The chat headset that came with my xbox broke and I needed a replacement. I just wanted something cheap because I only use it occasionally. This works perfectly. I actually think this headset fits my head better than the unit that comes with the xbox and the mic arm is more flexible so you can adjust it better. It plugs into the headphone jack on the controller and the controls (volume & mute/unmute) are in-line. I gave this five stars not because it's the best headset out there but because for $10 it's totally worth the money. I could get 2 1/2 of these for 1 of the original chat headsets. The only thing I miss are the controls at the controller that are easier to access while playing.

I use this primarily for teamwork based gaming. The game sound comes from the TV speakers however the headset is for hearing my teammates and talking back. I do this because I do not feel comfortable using headphones. The pros: It works well and does not drain my battery down too quickly. The device is comfortable enough to wear for multiple hours at a time. Cons: If you need to hear directional footsteps and/or other ambient noises it may be a struggle. The noise cancellation is nothing out of the norm. If you crank up the headset itself or the tv speaker volume it will activate the microphone. That is common across most devices out there though.

These work very well if you like the old xbox original chat set these are for you very comfy and work great as a chat only set. Very satisfied would buy again. The switch that mutes the mic isn't really obvious which position its in till you get to know it thats my only minor issue. Plenty loud that i turn it down a notch no feedback or mic echo for my friends or i when using

You get what you pay for, and this headset is barebones in every way but gets the job done. I kind of prefer these cheaper headsets for normal use
