  • works well
Color: Prewashed Indigo Size: 35W x 30L
Love that these are 100% cotton. The fit is ok, but since I am a woman trying to wear men's jeans (for the cotton), it is understandable that they don't fit perfectly. The color is great and they hold up well in the wash.

  • Great jeans if you want a slimmer, tighter fit than the normal version
I've become a big fan of these jeans. I've always had Levis, but decided to try these 18 months ago to see how the classic Wrangler jeans looked with my cowboy boots. At that point I had about a dozen pairs of Levis - now, I'm down to two pairs of Levis and eleven pairs of these Wrangler 936 slim fit jeans. That's how much I like them! There's a lot of reviews here saying these jeans are tight, and they are (they're meant to be), but I think some reviewers are perhaps being a little optimistic with their sizing. I wear a 30" waist in Levis and have found that these Wranglers fit me snugly in a 31" waist size, and very snugly with a 30" waist size, but are still not at all uncomfortable. In fact I have both sizes, depending on the look I'm going for - the 31s fit perfectly through the hips and seat, snug but not tight. The 30s however fit me nice and tight in the same areas, as well as being much tighter through the thighs. Both are comfortable but I can feel the 30s pulling everything in as I zip them up, which should give an idea of how they fit. There is certainly no room for bulky underwear and perhaps that's the mistake some people are making with their designer boxers - I'm not an underwear fashion victim however and my "tighty whitey" briefs work absolutely fine with these jeans. The legs are quite trim but go perfectly over the tops of my cowboy boots, I never tuck them into my boots but they are skinny enough to do so if that's your look. The waist is fairly high and looks good with a tucked-in T-shirt and nice belt - I do think those who have a bit of a belly might feel this makes them feel too tight also, but being in my twenties and still managing to hold onto my flat stomach I can't really comment. I may change my mind in a couple of decades, but as it stands, I would agree with a previous reviewer's slightly blunt suggestion that these are really cut to provide a tight fit for boys rather than larger men - so whilst they fit my small frame very nicely, bigger guys looking for a comfier fit would be better off with the 13MWZ version. Quality and detail is nice, perhaps some of the stitching doesn't appear to be on a par with Levis (especially round the crotch) but I've yet to have a pair show any signs of failure. The various colours are nicely finished and (again, unlike some reviewers) I actually quite like the Wrangler patch on the back. Yes, it's plastic and not leather, but that kind-of goes with the simple and basic nature of these jeans. The seven belt loops even on the 30" size is a plus, although not strictly necessary on my small waist I'm sure it helps on the larger sizes. The two front belt loops are a little closer together than I'd like with some of my chunkier belts but it doesn't look out of place and, again, a larger waist will probably not suffer this issue. Other details like the extra rivets and bold "W"s on the pockets are distinctive. The material has a soft and tactile feel entirely missing from my recent Levis, although I should point out that the "rigid" indigo versions of these are made of a much stiffer material. Not unpleasant, just different. With eleven pairs, I have these in most of the available colours and my favourites are the Rough Stone and Charcoal Grey ones, although the bleach ones are a particularly cool colour too. In summary then, great jeans. I always used to find Wranglers a bit "cheesy" as a Levis-wearing kid, but now I wish I'd discovered these years ago. Far better for less money, what more could you want! ... show more

  • Fits and wears very well
Color: Prewashed Indigo Size: 29W x 32L
These Wrangler jeans are comfortable to wear in the Winter as the denim is much thicker and stops wind from blowing through. They also still look brand new even though I have been wearing (and washing) them for months. Best part for me was the price, can't beat that when local stores are triple what I paid. ... show more

  • Wrangler butts drive me nuts.
Color: Rigid Indigo Size: 34W x 34L
I was a Levis 501 shrink-to-fit diehard for a while, but with the sudden Levi Strauss departure into political stances and a decline in manufacture quality, I started searching for alternatives. What I was looking for was a jean with history of being a work pant, a piece of Americana. Something in raw denim that was untreated in terms of artificial washing. Not designer. Not $100+ for a pair. Wrangler cowboy cut hits all of those notes, and has a great price as well. Impressions & comparisons: Material - heavier weight than Levis 501 STF. IIRC it's 16oz denim vs 14oz. Wranglers are sanforized, 501 STF are not. Which means there will be around 3% shrinkage for the Wranglers after washing, vs around 10% for STFs. Both materials are quite stiff out of the package and can be worn in the raw state long enough to create custom wear-in. Wrangler wins on material. Stiching & joining - Wrangler has a clever double stich on the outer leg seam that looks single stich. Which wins on both style and durability. Levis 501 STF use a singe stich in the inside leg seam. Crotch stitching on the Wranglers is not up to Levis quality, but pocket stitching on Levis is not up to Wrangler quality. Wranglers retain the classic copper rivets on the rear pockets, and use less orange stitching overall for more of a dungaree look. This category is close, but I prefer Wrangler stitching and joining. Wranglers have 7 belt loops as opposed to Levis which have 5. Cut - Levis has a very particular kind of butt sag that likely came from being overalls originally. I don't mind it, but many people do. These Wrangler Cowboy Cut Slim Fits have no such butt sag. They're sized about the same way as dress pants (read: no glamor sizing, so if you're using Levis or Old Navy waist sizes you're likely going to end up with pants 2 inches too small). These pants have a tall rise, are tight through the legs, and flare a bit at the bottom to accommodate boots. I am 6'1" 180 lb, athletic build, and the pants fit snugly but not uncomfortably. I do not fit into skinny jeans from Levis, as they seem to be geared towards really skinny, non-athletic people. If you have extremely muscular or fat quads, or a big belly, these pants are not for you. I'd say these are an athletic fit, best for endurance athletes not powerlifters. Tag - The worst thing about these jeans is the branding tag. It's a cheesy little piece of plastic, not even leather. Just cut it off. Overall, a great raw denim jean for very little dough. Nice 1950's style cowboy picture on the tag. Go old school. ... show more

  • They run small for the original Wrangler indigo blue Jeans. Worst the pickers are short!
Color: Rigid Indigo Size: 42W x 34L
I bought 38s and returned them. Then I went to brick and mortar stores to try on wranglers. To my surprise they didn't have my size. I am a 68 year old woman with a belly and no butt. I wanted slim fit in my size so I don't have excess material in the thighs and legs. I ordered 42x34. (Yes long legs). These fit just fine. Yay for me, jeans that fit my waist and don't have too much excess pants in the thighs. THE DEEP POCKETS ARE GONE. The front pockets hit mid palm, which is severely disappointing. If I wanted short pockets, I would order woman's wear. I want working pockets for a workman's jeans. I also bought shadow black which is a different softer cloth. I bought 40x34 which fits fine. ... show more
