Using USB for external power to extend the life of the batteries was a nice touch, but the feeder lasted less than a year before the motor started slipping and no food would come out. For the price it should have lasted 5-10 years.

    • It’s not great
This is much more cheaply made than an older WOPET I loved but had to replace as my cat has a common plastic allergy. The plastic on this one is thin so I think my cat smells the food more. He routinely tries to break into it and has knocked it over several times. I’ve now duct taped the plastic bin to the main body and am about to anchor it to the floor with strong Velcro. The only reason I haven’t returned it is because his allergy issues have cleared up with the stainless steel bowl. I still hate the machine tho. Oh and the portions are really small as others point out. My old WOPET was 2 portions and this one is 4 or 5 for just a quarter cup of food. With only 8 max your pet better not require much food! Now that I wrote this I might return it after all. ... show more

Loud rotation when feeding. Constantly gets stuck even with appropriate size food. First one broke within a few months. After many video sent at request of company- they did replace. But now the replacement is doing the same thing. I do have their 7l for second dog and have had it for 2 yrs with no problem. DO NOT BUT THIS ONE! ... show more

First things first... this auto pet feeder works! Since our old one no longer did, that was Priority #1 in my research. Reviews of our former dispenser brand showed people were not happy with its redesign. Kept looking and found the WOPET 8L dog feeder: big enough to hold kibble that would last about 10 days (even with 3 daily feedings on the max dispenser setting, which is ~1 cup of kibble). Their packaging for shipping was excellent... well protected with a box handle to lift and carry easily. Set up and programming was easy. Didn't use the voice feature and chose to go with batteries vs. using the wall plug to power it because of where we place the unit (but it's nice to have options). Love the stainless steel bowl that fits into the dispensing tray... easy to clean and keeps the unit more sanitary. Only downside was the power light was a little too bright (just partially covered with duct tape and all is well). 5 stars from a happy customer (and a very happy Labrador Retriever)! ... show more

The only reason for three star is because we have a Labrador and it doesn’t dispense enough (1 cup) for one feeding. Great food dispenser just would only recommend it for smaller dogs or cats.

I purchased to use while out of town. However, I found it so easy to use, I use it everyday. I know my old dog is getting the right amount of food daily. She is slightly deaf, so she doesn't always hear the "voice" unless she is same room but has figured out what time of day it will dispense food.
