I wish it covered a bit more up to the armpit on the one side without the ruffle. I wore dress to a wedding and received alot of compliments. The dress is well made so body has a smooth look. Yes, even at my size I do have some unwanted bumps on my butt. The color was a great chose it for the shoes I was wearing it with. I purchased the burgandy color and it was true burgandy, not a red tone. I'm 5'4 and wear a size 4 to 5. I ordered a small and it was almost perfect. I had to hem a little so my shoes would show. I recommend this dress for any special occasion., it's flattering. I was nicely surprised with the quality of the product. I never bought an evening dress on line, without seeing/touching the fabric and trying the product on. I decided to take my chances. The dress is very well made and has very nice/flattering fit. The fabric is a little stretchy, and it's not flimsy/thin, so it holds shape very well. I bought a Small, I'm 5ft, 104lbs. It fit very well (not tight). My only problem was that it was very long (even with me wearing high heel shoes) and needed to be professionally shortened. But I can't blame the product. This was my second attempt at buying a mother of the bride dress. The first ended up being too formal for the wedding style so I tried this. Im a bustier 5’6” 154 lbs so I ordered the large and its a great fit- not too tight that you can see every nook’n-cranny, but not too loose either. The wrinkles are weird and troublesome because of the polyester fabric but based on another reviewers recommendation i will have it pressed at a dry cleaners to get them removed. The dress is oddly boring when on (might be because the pink is about the same color as my skin!) but leaves room to accessorise. Ill be wearing a corsage and will take another reviewer’s advice and go for a brooch at the top of the waist-to-floor ruffle. With these additions I think its really going to be perfect. It stretches and moves easily, very comfortable, and that means reception dancing will be a joy! Can’t wait. ... show more

I think this would be a flattering dress for most. The XL was a little too snug for me around the hips and showed more curves and rolls than I’m comfortable with. To be fair, I don’t wear body shapers and that likely would help. For reference I’m 63, 5ft 7”, 180lbs, 40D. Also, as others have mentioned, it did seem to twist at the bottom during a short try on. All the reviews are true. Wear this dress, and you'll get a ton of compliments. It was comfortable, looked great, and was just about the perfect wife of the father of the bride dress. I needed something that fit amazingly well, floor length, nice enough that I looked like I belonged with the father of the bride, but not so fancy I looked like I was trying to upstage more important people. This dress fit the bill nicely. My biggest headache with the dress was getting the creases from shipping out of it. I tried hanging it to let them fall out (it hung for two months and still had creases), getting it wet and hanging to dry, washing and drying on permanent press (it held up to that great, but it didn't fix the creases), and ironing on my iron's synthetic setting. I finally gave up the day before the wedding and took it to a dry cleaner - they worked some magic and get the wrinkles out of the dress. Another annoyance I had with the dress that I didn't see mentioned in other reviews is that it did not stay put. I lost count of how many times I had to adjust it over the course of the evening. It didn't really ride up, but it kept twisting so that the right side seam was about 4-6 inches rotated toward the front of the dress. It still looked okay from the front, but the center seam down the back looked weird curving off the right. So I had to keep grabbing both side seams and yanking it back around into the proper position. Thankfully it was an adjustment that was quick and not one I needed privacy for, but it would have been nice to not have to keep doing that! The fit was pretty much as I expected. I ordered a small and medium and ended up choosing the medium. It is form-fitting and stretches over your hips. The small was just a little too tight over my hips, but fit my top half better. The medium for nicely in the hips and was a little large up top, but not bad. The arm holes were a little big at the underarm, so my bra peeked out just the tiniest bit, but was barely noticeable with the nude color bra. I wore 2.5 inch heels and the dress was for length but not dragging on the ground. The slit came to mid thigh and did not at all feel inappropriate, especially with the ruffle covering the top of it. I wore Spanx shorts underneath, and only about half an inch peaked out at the top of the slit if you looked for it under the ruffle. I'm 5'7"and 133 pounds, 34C. I had some trouble figuring out how to accessorize this dress, but I found that a fancy pin at the top of the ruffle really added some interest and took the dress up a level.
