These socks are so comfortable! I'm always a little scared when I read "wool" socks because they're so often itchy. These aren't itchy at all. They are soft and are so great to wear with boots. I'm constantly having to pull up my ankle socks when I'm walking in boots and this has remedied that. These socks are also amazing to wear while lounging around because they are cushy and cozy. I really like the colors as well. They match most of my fall/winter wardrobe so I can wear them for half the year (which is all I'd want to wear them for because they're warm). I wear size 8's in shoes and the heal of this sock is exactly where I need it to be. Lots of the time, the ankle is placed too high or too low and the extra fabric bulk is uncomfortable. Yes they are soft and comfortable at first and relatively thick but not a serious winter sock. They began to pill and loose material even before washing, then slip and develop multiple holes. .Our use was with household slippers only. Okay for folks who don't mind short-lived, lower quality 'throw away' socks but we would not recommend for those seeking a well-made longer lasting sock ... if there is such a thing anymore. ... show more

Got these for a winter trip to NYC. I always forget that wool socks aren’t super thick but really provide a nice layer of warmth for your feet. Wore these by themselves inside some rain boots walking around the city. My feet felt fine the whole time. They do pill easily though.

I had some favorite socks, but my feet were still cold, it's common for my feet to be frozen solid. I love these socks, finally I have toasty warm feet, for very little money. My wife absolutely adores these socks! She's the type that's always in a hoodie, while covered by a blanket (but also doesn't want to be too warm). She says these socks keep her feet warm, but not too warm, which is perfect. Great price, I looked in several stores before landing these on amazon. Well made, thicker than I had anticipated so they did not work for the trip that I purchased them for.
