The material is very thin. If I'm wearing a tank top under it, you can see the outlines of it in direct light. Most of the time, not too noticeable. I hover around a size 10, and this is comfortably snug (but I DEFINITELY wouldn't want it any tighter). It's a little weird to put on because of the tail. And despite how thin the material is, it's surprisingly warm. Now, I do tend to run a little hot these days (thank you, aging), but I was outside in 45-50 degree weather and was pretty comfortable for 20-30 min with the sleeves pulled up to my elbows (I'm from Texas, we are normally weenies in the cold). Most importantly, this sweater is on fire. I get compliments on it EVERY time I wear it. I've never had so many strangers feel compelled to comment on it. I don’t care that the material is thin and I will say I bought the right size (one size larger than I typically wear), but I have to wear something under it and I don’t have anything that won’t look baggy which is mainly a concern for the sleeves. My daughter invited me to the Renaissance Festival and I didn't want to put in too much time or effort for a costume. This was the perfect go to. Stretchy material although can be quite hot if the day is warm. Causes you to get sweaty. Easy to string up but they came loose a lot. Also the string didn't match the color of the outfit.
