This dress (in the black on black combo) is just adorable. The main dress fabric has a slight ribbing effect, which helps with elasticity and shape retention. It is not really noticeable when you put it on. I could imagine a completely flat, very soft, cashmere-style version of this but then it wouldn't be able to hold its shape over time, so this is perfect. The shape conforms to your body and really shows it off. It will show every line underneath, so mind your underwear. It is true to size - I'm 5'6", 105, got the XS and it fits perfectly. The hem hits mid-thigh (though I also have long legs, so it might be a wee bit higher if you have a long torso). Overall, an absolute winner, I think I'll wear this till it falls apart.
