I have washed them at least five or six times and soak them in vinegar for a couple of days. Like other jeans from this brand they smell like mothballs. Very comfortable and fit perfectly which is hard to find for me. The stretch of the waist makes for this perfect fit allowing them to fit a smaller waist or a bigger one. This also helps with the comfort because the pants move with you throughout the day. I will say these pants were a bit more high waisted than expected but nonetheless they are a great addition to my wardrobe.
