The title advertises it as METAL, which is funny, considering the crutial part of it, the mount, is actually plastic. I noticed that after purchase hidden away in the description. Hopefully it lasts. It arrived with some mounting plates that I decided not to use as I cannot access the underneath of my jonboat bench, I instead used some ratchet straps to hold it down more securely. With a 7" pedestal mount and a folding seat, it feels like it'll be going nowhere anytime soon. Unless of course the main plastic body decides to fail. ... show more

    • Takes extra straps to make it work
Kept creeping up and off the bench seat in the boat. I secured it by running a ratchet strap under the bench and to each end of the clamp. That did the trick and so far have had no problems at all

what I like about this product is that I do not have holes in my new boat for the seats ,what I don"t like is that when you lean over the brackets lean to so I used rachets straps to hold them to the aluminum seats it works great

It does the job and is easy to install. It will work well for the boat and being able to attach the seats easily was an added plus.
