This clamp works as advertised. However, it comes with two brackets to attach to the bench seat in a jon boat. Because of the construction of the bench seat in my boat, I had to attach the two brackets to short pieces of 1x4 boards and screw them to the sides of the bench seats. The wingnuts were very difficult to tighten because it is necessary to install the seat BEFORE you clamp it to the bench seat. If you are thinking of buying this bracket and a swivel for your boat seat, I recommend buying the bracket with the swivel already installed. ... show more

    • Takes extra straps to make it work
Kept creeping up and off the bench seat in the boat. I secured it by running a ratchet strap under the bench and to each end of the clamp. That did the trick and so far have had no problems at all

Sent back because they kept sliding off as soon as you moved around.

The title advertises it as METAL, which is funny, considering the crutial part of it, the mount, is actually plastic. I noticed that after purchase hidden away in the description. Hopefully it lasts. It arrived with some mounting plates that I decided not to use as I cannot access the underneath of my jonboat bench, I instead used some ratchet straps to hold it down more securely. With a 7" pedestal mount and a folding seat, it feels like it'll be going nowhere anytime soon. Unless of course the main plastic body decides to fail. ... show more
