This seat is perfect for my pontoon boat rebuild. I didn't want to spend the money for new seat base that slides but want to be able to stand and steer when docking for better visibility. This seat with flip up bolster solves that issue, without having to mount the seat too far back for comfortable seated steering. Flip up mechanism is stainless and feels solid. Installed them in the boat, they look sharp; the main complaint I have about them is that there isn't enough support in the padding and the foam compresses a lot, so you will sit lower than expected.

First off the size is not xl it would be too small for an over average sized person. The bolster sits up too high and presses against your legs when used in the open position, why wouldn't it sit flat when opened. The bottom seat cushion is held in place with velcro and we took it out to look over the cushion and there were cuts in the vinyl where the rivets that are part of the bolster assembly rub on it. I checked to see if there were sharp edges on the hardware and it cut my finger open. Sorry to say these will be going back. Sorry ups guy. Just not comfortable, well thought out, and an injury hazard. ... show more

It's a good looking seat, seams to be well built. No wood to rot, fairly comfortable to sit in and the flip up bolster is an added bonus.
