trying to feed the wires through the conduit. After I got the hang of it, I looked around the neighborhood looking for untidy wires I could make look better. I have had the same neighbors for several years, so they didn't call the cops. But really, re-wiring several boat trailers and utility trailers became fun again. TLDR: Yes they're cheap in quality and price but the 3 people in the shop I showed what they do all 3 want this 5 piece set. Long stuff: I spent 30 minutes looming 15' of 8/2 with a flat 6 remote wire, cussing and whining. Job over asked a couple people how to loom wire easily? One person said just stick it in and move it along- I did that and it really hurt my fingers and patience. Other person with 30+ years in electirical mumbled there must be a tool- that night I found this bundle of 5. Everyone wants this kit now no matter how cheaply made it is. One hasn't used it yet and they want it. Another used the 3/8 and overloomed. If you loom you want this set. Just note there's no 1/4" included but we don't use that here. ... show more

I regularly make custom wire harnesses with split loom, I came across this while looking for something to make the looming process faster. It definitely does the trick. The time it takes with this tool is a fraction of what it takes to do "by hand". I have the CM08, and it works perfectly for 3/8-inch split loom but the wire bundle size (how many wires this tool can handle at a time) is a little small to use with 1/2-inch. I do wish there was a smaller size available for use with 1/4-inch split loom. The CM08 doesn't seem to stay in as well and I generally end up doing that size by hand. The tool is made of plastic, it's certainly not glass-reinforced nylon or anything especially strong or exotic. The material reflects the price. And for the price you get something that saves you time (eg money), and even if you have to buy and keep a few extras in the toolbox you're well ahead if you loom wires on the regular. ... show more

I work with split loom all day every day. These little things work great. Only complaint is there needs to be a size for 1/4" loom. I've done 16awg 3 wires, 4 wires, 6 wires, and also 4o welding cable. These little things make life easy. I bought the 5 pack of assorted sizes and I'll probably only use three of them due to the sizes of loom we have. Even still they are a worthwhile investment. Your fingertips will thank you. Gave 4 stars on value because there should be a smaller size. 3 stars on durability because they are a bit fragile looking. ... show more
