  • Took the chance and I'm glad I did -- very nice for the price!
I read the reviews, and I am typically very cautious about buying something that doesn't get consistently high marks. The reviews for this one almost scared me away but I'm glad I took the chance. I found it relatively easy to put together, with the exception of a couple of the alan head screws for the middle shelf. Still, those just took a little bit of patience to secure tightly. No, it is not the sturdiest piece of furniture I've put together, but no one is going to be sitting on it and bottles of wine don't tend to shift too much on their own, so that's not really a factor for me. The wood has a very nice grain and is stained a nice color, perfect to go with the other walnut colored wood in the room where I have it. Some of the pieces of wood don't take the stain the same way, but that is not uncommon for real wood furniture. My $2500 cherry bedroom set has more color variations in it than this piece. The drawer didn't fit perfectly square at first but that just took some simple adjusting. And to keep the vertical segments of the wine grid from moving, I just used wood glue on the underside of those joints/intersections before I put the back on. The result is a very nice looking, functional piece of furniture that has gotten really great comments from all our family and friends, and as others have said here, it does look like a more expensive piece of furniture. There was only one other wine cabinet I could find that had these same features and elegance, and it was $200 more at World Market. So yes, maybe there is some buyer beware to be had based on some of the comments here, but I would recommend it. ... show more

  • Don't waste your money
Yes, I know it's inexpensive but trust me you don't want it. It was difficult to put together. You couldn't really tighten the joints with the Allen wrench they give you. The Allen wrench they provide you bent so it wasn't usable. We had another set. The screws stripped almost immediately. It's not been used and is just sitting in a corner with a couple of glasses and bottles in it and is already listing to one side. It's really a shame because even though its really cheap wood it looks great. I'm going to have to throw it out because who wants a tilting cabinet. I'll never buy anything sold by Winsome again. ... show more

  • Pretty nice piece
I had seen this at Bed Bath and Beyond, and Amazon had it for 20.00 less so i went with Amazon. it looks GREAT, all the parts where there and requires few screws. easy enough for one person to put together with a little patience. Pros: looks great, no visable screws or bolts, good size, drawer is plenty big for just about anything, wine cubbies are sturdy, easy assembly. Cons: despite looking very sturdy and well built, it seems a little wobbly and is a bit top heavy. the top piece is about 75% of the weight. the screws that go under the middle shelf are damn near impossible to screw in all the way. All in all i'm very pleased, and look foward to filling it up. ... show more

  • Quality beyond the price point
At this price I was not expecting something quite this quality. Very Simple to put together had it assembled and in my kitchen within 30 minutes. very solid with a nice finish. Size is just perfect for the spot that we wanted. Now housing our small wine collection and out keurig coffee marker and carousel. Nice solid accessory draw with a great stemware holder that is also very solid. Oustanding peice of furniture which will make me think of buying from this company again. Packaed well. • Good value for the price
This cabinet definitely looks nice. The drawer does tend to be sticky as it runs on just wooden runners. The cabinet goes together pretty easily with the exception of the 2 screws that mount the side-wall to the middle shelf: those are difficult to tighten with the wine rack installed. There's just not that much room to get a Allen key in there so you are working blind while having to remove and reset the Allen key after every 1/2 turn. I would suggest that anybody who puts this together forgo the accompanying Allen key and use a ball-driver Allen key of the same size to reduce the remove-and-reset action. The parts arrived essentially intact. 2 of the wine rack shelves were damaged on the backside - but I put it together anyways, as those parts are hidden and the damage is invisible when the cabinet is fully assembled. Also one of the stemware racks had sheared off one of its screws - forcing me to drill a hole nearby and to use a different screw. I'm not sure why they designed it this way, but they used the weakest screws to hold the far right and far left stemware racks, while using substantially stronger screws for mounting the center racks. In all, this is a nice looking cabinet that fulfills its purpose nicely. ... show more

  • Perfect Rack
I spent about 3 months trying to find the right wine rack for what I wanted. This rack encompassed everything I wanted. A drawer, more than 12 slots for wine, more than 12 slots for glasses. I was leery about buying this thought because it was about $200 cheaper than similar models. I was very impressed when I got it. The main parts are surprisingly heavy duty. It was very easy to put together. The color and look are beautiful and look like I spent a lot more money. I have gotten a lot of compliments. My only complaint is the drawer does not have stoppers on it so just be careful pulling it out because you might pull the entire drawer out. ... show more
