    • Don't turn on wipers to clear frozen windhshield!
My car is 14 years old. This is the second time I have replaced this part. Both part failure were because I was twice careless/stupid enough to believe I could release a frozen wiper by turning the wipers on. You will need a gear puller or something functionally similar to remove wiper arms from stems. DON'T PRY using windshield as fulcrum or you will crack your w/s. AutoZone will loan you a tool to remove wiper arms. The rest is easy enough for a novice to replace this part and save $100 or more labor charges. ... show more
