  • Diabetics have little choice.
OK, so as a type 2 diabetic, I've learned that there is very little to choose from in the world of sugar-free candy. Most are pretty lame. Whitman's has done a decent job of making an edible substitute. However, they switched to Stevia as a sweetener, and Stevia tastes like garbage. The fact that chocolate is a pretty strong flavor does hide it somewhat, but their product was better before they made the switch. Another gripe of mine is that the price of a box has risen, while the quantity of candies has been reduced. This works out to a price increase, per ounce, that is nearly double that it once was. I guess this fits in with the general "screw the consumer" mentality of American businesses, but it's sad. You can't even get a break with candy. ... show more

  • Delicious
This is delicious candy. It tastes just like a version made with sugar. But uh...and how can I put this gently? It causes a terrible bathroom experience afterwards. Either only eat a few pieces, or stock up on Imodium AD because the sugar alcohol they use to sweeten it is a powerful laxative.

  • Over charged
Well, I usually swear by Whitman's candies, however, this was a disappointing experience. Early February I ordered the sugar free box of candy in a hurry for a special friend for Valentine's Day, my friend called to thank me, he also mentioned the chocolates were "white" which means they were old and stale!!!! He ate them anyway, lol, but what gets me I paid over $20 for ONE regular, sugar free box of Whitman's chocolates! I usually get this very box at my local grocery store for under $5.00, but two stores were out of them, so I hurried and ordered them from Amazon. Since he still enjoyed them I decided, this time, not to ask for my money back from Amazon, but I will not order Whitman's SF any longer, the price is too risky. Amazon is always good to me, they have wonderful merchandise, so once in a great while, I will give them a pass. ... show more

  • This is may be sugar free...
Okay, so I'm diabetic, love chocolate... thought I'd give this a try. Went to test my glucose the day after having some of this chocolate and it was really high... Apparently, there's "Sugar Alcohol" in this. And the daily recommended amount is 10-15 grams per day. Well, 2 pieces contains 20 grams of Sugar Alcohol. You gotta count carbs with this too. Did a little research and found the following: "The safe recommended intake of sugar alcohol intake is 10-15 grams per day." and this "Not only can they affect your GI system, but in some cases, some sugar alcohols can contribute to spikes in blood sugar." So, yeah, it DID cause a spike in my blood sugar, and is not going to work out for me as I had so hoped. So, it's back to the old hershey bar, buying small bars so i don't consume too much at once. I have very little will power against chocolate, kinda sux 4 me. ... show more

  • Good for a diabetic
My parents really enjoyed them. I get a box for my mother every year. Usually I get it locally but this year I couldn’t so I ordered it. Very good results.

  • Good Sugar Free Option
I always liked Whitman's Sampler regular. Now since I have to watch my glucose, this is a wonderful option that tastes good.

  • Always a joy to receive.
A welcome gift. I stretched it out the best I could but ate them all (except a few I gave away) in a week.
