  • Plain and comfortable.
Size: 7.5 Color: W71v5 | Grey Gum
I hardly ever give a 5 star, but I love these sneakers, and they are true to the description. Plain and comfortable. I'm amazed. At first, with the wide toe-box, I felt sort of like duck feet, but these are proving to be the most comfortable sneakers I own.

  • Great barefoot sneakers **Edited** Please read to the end
I purchased these in 8.5 white, and I am very happy. I usually fit in size 8 or 8.5, but, since I was buying these mostly for comfort, I went with the larger size. They are comfortable from the very first wear (which, in my case, was sockless, though they are extremely comfortable with socks, as well). The soles are very low profile, flexible, and grippy. This was important to me: I have rheumatoid arthritis -- including inflammation and reduced movement in my ankles -- so I tend to trip if I wear thick-soled shoes. I feel very grounded in these -- they even make me feel a little sprightly! When laced up, there is a surprising amount of arch support for such flat sneakers. Also, they are nicely cut around the back of the ankle: high enough to feel secure, but low enough that they don't dig in when I have bad inflammation. Finally, they are pretty cute: the white with rubber soles have a little retro-hipster flair and go with any casual outfit. The only possible downside is that they are canvas and (I expect) will get dirty and/or rip if I mistreat them, but I have had them for over a month now (wearing them almost every day, mostly on sidewalk), and they still look good. I'm returning to buy them in black, too! **EDITED** Okay, after months of happily wearing the white pair, I decided I needed them in black, as well. I am *very* disappointed because the company has changed the fabric. They no longer come in a cotton-like canvas fabric, but they now use a clearly synthetic, woven, polyester-type fabric that is padded inside and smells strongly of plastic. They are still comfortable, but they seem as though they are going to breathe less and be more hot and sweaty. Furthermore, they have completely lost their distinctive style, and the sneakers now look cheap, like something you would buy in Payless or Walmart. I don't know if I am going to return them -- it is probably not worth the trouble -- but I am super bummed, since I was looking forward to having a black version of the original canvas design. I am keeping my star rating as it is, since I was originally reviewing the earlier design, but, Whitin, please bring back the canvas! As is, these are now worth only about 2 or 3 stars. ... show more

  • Great shoe but had to fix heel issue because of plastic used was rubbing my heel
Size: 10 Color: W71v5 | Grey Gum
This is a great shoe. I wear it every day and plan to buy more. The plastic liner inside the left shoe was rubbing on my heel but fixed by hot gluing a sewing padded piece that is used in purses or such for support. Fixed the issue but the company should look at this. Maybe I just got a bad shoe, who knows. If not for that it would be five stars. Doesn't feel like a wide shoe either. I wear Xero shoes, too. ... show more

  • Perfect barefoot shoe
Size: 11 Color: W71v5 | Black Gum
Absolutely love this brand of barefoot shoes! I have been dealing foot issues for the past couple years and have switched to only wearing barefoot shoes (which has helped immensely!), and this brand is amazing! I was wary of the low price tag at first, compared to other barefoot brands, but I’ve been very impressed with the quality of these shoes. Very comfortable, true to size, good grip, and have so far seemed to maintain nice durability. I have the low tops and the high top styles and did notice the high tops are slightly wider in the toe area than the low tops. Both work great for my feet though. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • LOVE THESE!
Size: 8 Color: W71v5 | Grey Gum
It took me a minute to get used to such a low shoe but they're so comfy and light! This light gray color is my fave, too. I have narrow feet and thought the shoes would be very loose because the toes seem wide but they're fine. And, it may be just me but I do find that if I'm going to be hiking through home improvement stores for a bit, the cement flooring calls for thicker soles in my case, so I switch them out. ... show more

  • Cleaning difficult
Size: 8 Color: W71v5 | White Gum
I walked in wet grass to get to my car and I have not been able to get grey stains off these shoes. It says machine washable but the form did begin to curve. I’ll be trying the canvas ones next. Loved them for a short bit until this.

  • Love these shoes
Size: 8 Color: W71v5 | White Gum
This is my third pair of this kind of shoe--I also have them in gray and black. I wear these as my "white keds" style sneakers, since name brand Keds are too narrow and crunch up my toes. I thought they might look a bit clownish since the toe box is so square, but they really don't--they're pretty low profile and not clunky. If you like a lot of arch support, these aren't for you. One downside is they don't breathe super well so they do get stinky, but they are machine washable. Some other commenters mentioned rivets popping out after a few wears, and that has not happened to me on any of my three pairs. ... show more

  • Comfortable shoe
Size: 8 Color: W71v5 | Black Gum
I got a pair of these zero sole shoes Sept 2023, and since about Oct 2024 they started to come apart where the rubber sole meets the fabric namely where the toe joints flex. I've never had this happen with other shoes I've owned and I typically keep pairs for 3+ years so I likely won't buy these again. The shoes are very comfortable, quiet and light. Often I would feel sharp jabs of rocks while hiking due to the minimal cushioning, which I expected. ... show more
