Barefooters: overall good, beware of the toe spring.

I have been wearing barefoot shoes for about 5 years and go completely barefoot as often as possible. These shoes are cute and breathable. However, there is toe spring making the tip of my toes feel crowded and the width could be wider for people with a large splay. I had to size up even though the chart indicated that I should be able to wear a 8 due to the toe spring. I do appreciate that the insoles are removable giving me a true barefoot experience with zero drop heel and no arch support letting my foot support my body. Overall the price point matches the quality.

These run short, order up a size

These look great but they run short. I ordered a 9W in a sneaker from this brand (my typical size across brands), and it fit nicely, but these are too short. I’d definitely go up a size. In terms of width, as someone with wide feet but low volume feet, these fit great, I just wish they were longer. The toe box width is excellent for me. The mid-sole width is narrow relative to the toe box, but that is perfect for me. These might be too tight at the midsole for those with high volume feet. Definitely a barefoot fit- no padding. I walk to work, so once I get the right size, I plan on replacing the current thin pad with an orthotic insert.

Game Changer for Barefoot Wearers – All-Day Comfort

I started my barefoot journey two years ago and finally found the perfect barefoot work shoes. I work long 12-hour shifts, and these have honestly been a lifesaver. Since transitioning to barefoot-style footwear, traditional shoes now hurt my feet and ankles, so having something that allows natural movement has made a huge difference for me. I do want to clear up some confusion for others—if you’re used to “normal” shoes with thick cushioning and arch support, these will feel thin and unsupported at first. That’s actually the point. They’re designed to mimic being barefoot, so you get ground feel and let your feet function naturally. If you’re new to barefoot shoes, there may be an adjustment period, but if you’re already accustomed to them like I am, these are incredibly comfortable for long shifts. Definitely a great option if you’re looking for a true barefoot work shoe.

Sizing is Off

I really wanted to like these shoes. They are soft, well made and attractive. However, the sizing is off. I normally wear a 9-9.5 and already own a pair of Whitin zero drop sneakers in a 9.5 so ordered these shoes in that size. They were REALLY big, and not just in the length. The width of the shoes around the mid section of my foot was so loose my foot was sliding out. So, I returned them and ordered these in a size 9 and unfortunately, although they fit perfect in the width, the length was so short my toes were pressing against the front of the toe box. I felt like I was wearing and entire size smaller. And speaking of toe box, unlike the Whitin zero drop sneakers, there is noticeable toe spring so if you are looking for minimal to zero toe spring, these are not the shoes for you.

Your Feet Need These or Similar - No Arch Support is a Good Thing

This is my first pair of this type of "earth shoes" or "barefoot shoes" and in only two days of wearing them, I am astonished at how much better my walking and my posture are. Please note that there is a star removed (at least temporarily) until I get further into using these and seeing their longevity. I have noticed that in comments across Amazon regarding shoes of this nature, people are complaining about no arch support. These and other shoes like them are designed specifically without arch support and a wide toe box to mimic walking barefoot. There is a reason for this and it's about the structure of your body. I've been wanting a pair of earth shoes or barefoot shoes for over ten years when I discovered a company in my state that makes barefoot shoes and I researched why they would do this. Well, as it turns out, our modern shoes are designed for creature-comfort and style instead of keeping in tune with the body's proper gait and structure. I have held off all this time because the cost of so many brands are a bit out of my reach. My step-mom has been wearing similar shoes for quite a while and said you don't need to spend oodles of money on these sorts of shoes for their benefits. I've held off (for no particular reason) and I am regretting that I didn't buy a pair sooner! Why no arch support and why a wider toe box? Because this is how your feet are designed along with the muscles in the feet along with your legs. If you do some queries in your favorite search engine, you'll find that over time, your muscles do not respond properly when wearing other shoes be they athletic shoes, casual wear, or other shoes. Shoes of this sort, over time, help keep the muscles properly developed which serve you as you age. In my late 50s and still very active and functional, it is my thought process that wearing these types of shoes will maintain better balance and muscle structure to serve me well into my 80s. So, to those that are not happy that there are no arch supports, do yourself a favor, wear these for shorter periods of time and get used to them. Your feet, hips, and back will thank you over time if you ease into them if you've been stuck in the mantra that supportive shoes are the way to go. This is not the case for the majority of people. If you look at cultures where footwear isn't a $400 billion+ market, they are healthy in part because they have shoes that don't hinder their gait and support their overall structure from muscles to bones to fascia. I started out the gate with these shoes helping with a move and a short hike in some woods with a couple of toddlers. I wore them all day with no issues at all. I don't wear footwear in the house unless it's very cold so for me, I my body is used to shoes being off. I would go barefoot all the time if I could but well, we don't live in a culture that understands the shoe is just a fashion statement instead of a functional item - such as rain and snow or concrete sidewalks as protection only. Anyhow, the next day I wore them to walk 1 mile uphill early in the morning and for work all day; and as I was walking to work, I realized my posture was far better than when I make the same trek in a pair of running shoes I have. I was not leaning forward into the hill putting stress on my upper back, shoulders, and neck, I was practically at a 90° from a flat level plain. It made my walk less effort and my feet didn't hurt at all, even walking on concrete sidewalks. In addition, my feet didn't get overly hot during the day. They stayed comfortable. My experience with these shoes over the last two days prompted me to order another pair in a different color and also get a pair of earth/barefoot hiking shoes from another brand. Will I get rid of all my other shoes? I am honestly thinking that the donate bin at a local charity may get a few pairs of shoes I may never wear again. I am a casual dresser so for me this is not a problem. I dress for comfort, not style and shoes that are beneficial to my health will serve me longer than a cute pair of cute mules or a slick-looking pair of running shoes. If these last a long time, they will be a staple shoe and will purchase more colors. That's how much I like them.
