  • comfort for my long walks but durability is questionable
Size: 12 Wide Color: Red
I have flat, wide (2E) feet and supination. I find I need a zero drop wide toe box walking shoe to be comfortable. I remove the insole and use a cork insole for flat/low arches by Tread and Butter. I am able to walk 6 miles on sidewalks in 2 hours with these shoes and no foot pain. After two months use, 120 miles I've worn a hole in the inside heel of one. Both shoes have visible wear for a supinator where no traction is left. Now the inside hole I've read is because I can't tie a shoe properly, but I will tell you my shoes are tied. It's more likely because there are no half sizes available and the shoe may be just a tad bit big. The wear and tear may be above average due to my weight, which this walking is helping with. The hole is causing me irritation so I just bought another pair. While I wish it could have been 4 months of use in stead of 2, the low price helps me cope with the durability issue. ... show more

  • Great neutral, wide shoe
Size: 13 Wide Color: Black
I've been adapted to allowing my feet to splay wide and I have wide feet. But wearing ultralight barefoot shoes can be a bit painful at times... I tried pretty much all the zero drop, "barefoot" style shoes that include some cushion and none of them were wide enough for my feet. The Topos were close, but still not quite. I was already wearing the barefoot no cushion shoe from this company so I tried it... after going maybe $800 back and forth in returns. These have the best actual wide barefoot fit I have found, other than shoes with no cushion at all. They have what feels like a little too much material on the lateral mid foot, but I see why it's designed like that. These are flat, no support, no input from the shoe. I felt like the Lems, Topo, Altra, Stryke, Flux, all had a way of guiding my foot through walking... I don't need or want that, some of them you could feel the "rocking" motion through the last... I think all of these shoe companies have lost the idea of barefoot shoes. The upper on these isn't the best, the tread is grippy, but not confidence inspiring. Muddy trail might be a disaster. I hope they bring out a trail runner with a more sturdy upper and a trimmed up lower that doesn't feel like a paddle. ... show more

  • 80 percent of the quality of the famous maker's shoe, at half the price
Size: 13 Wide Color: White
This shoe is a knock of of a more expensive maker, so I took a risk. So I will compare it, generally to the more expensive maker's shoes. Firstly, it's about half the price of the famous maker, so that was my first reason to try it, to see if I could get a cheaper shoe that has the same zero drop benefits. The outer isn't quite as nice as the famous maker, using a little more vinyl in a few areas instead of mesh, but not a deal maker. The fit is pretty good, wide, and flat. The cushioning inside the shoe doesn't feel quite as good as the famous maker, but good enough. The sole looks like a standard cheap running shoe version, however I didn't have a problem jogging with it in the rain. So, it's probably 80 percent of the quality of the famous maker's shoe at half the price, so I'm sticking with it and will likely buy another pair when these wear out. ... show more

  • So far very good
Size: 12 Wide Color: Black
I'm fairly new to zero drop/barefoot/minimalist shoes but these are the best I've tried for my lifestyle, especially factoring cost. I spend time walking concrete floors indoors and fast paced urban walking outdoors so super thin soles don't serve me very well. There's just enough foam in these soles to protect from that abuse but still gives lots of feedback and flex. They're really cheap obviously so time will tell but if they last any reasonable amount of time I'll be back for many more. ... show more

  • Very Comfortable
Size: 13 Wide Color: Grey
I found these shoes very comfortable to walk/run in. As someone who has had a couple foot/ankle surgeries, these shoes really seem to force my feet and lower legs to work as they should. I walk regularly but these really allowed my calves to work in a way that was immediately noticeable. I have preferred a casual pair to wear around as well. ... show more

  • What is the point in buying Altras?
Size: 12 Wide Color: Grey
These shoes look and feel quite similar to my escalante 3s except these shoes are wider in the toe box and a little higher stack heigth, may 26mm? The quality is solid, I love the look of them and they're comfy. From the looks of them, they should easily last as long as any Altra road shoe. It took about an hour of wearing to break them in and loosen up the upper a bit but still nice when I first put them on. The upper is made with an upper like the escalante as well. It's not amazingly breathable but neither is the escalante. The sole is firm but also has a little squish. If you like the escalante line, stop buying them and buy these. They fit what I'd say is true to size. I got the 12 and i have about half an inch or so of room left over, perfect for running. I honestly love them. I'm buying more. I hope Whittin creates a trail shoe. ... show more

  • Zero Drop Shoes for a Discount Price
Size: 9.5 Wide Color: Grey
I have been looking for Zero drop shoes with wide-toe boxes over the last several months and they can be kinda pricey. I am new to the Zero drop shoes and am not sure how they would work with my feet. I can say that I am surprised by the comfort and feel. I have been trying on Altra shoes which cost triple the price and the comfort level is the same. If you are looking to get into the zero drop/open-toe box shoe game this is a great starting point at a low price. ... show more

  • This shoe feels amazing
Size: 9.5 Wide Color: Grey
I have wide feet and several foot issues. A friend told me about these shoes so I had to go and try them out. I am so glad I did. My feet do not suffer as much fatigue while on my feet working on a concrete floor as they have with other shoes I have.
