I have run many many many miles in my time and always find myself looking for a new shoe instead of being able to find the exact thing year after year. I only run in 0mm drop shoes and I love the wide toe box. I started running in Altras and the found their quality to decrease as the price increased. I went to Topo Athletic and just always looking for good shoes for a good price Ok the review At ~$50 these shoes after 6.5 miles are so good. They feel comfortable without feeling like I’m going to topple over (hokas). The only thing I would “change” I guess is adding a last eye hole to tie them runners style. Also as I first went to tighten the laces I had to pull really hard to move the laces through the two middle loops. It even seemed that the laces were glued to the plastic. The only thing I can’t say is how many miles they will last. I can say I am excited to try out the trail shoes!!

Width is great, but the topper not as flexible as expected and I guess my feet are thicker than they expected, i had to take out the insole to get them to fit, also the the laces are glued to the first three sets of eyelits and couldn't loosens or tighten. The sole is actually soft, firm and flexible enough even without the insole, I usually have to look for specific sole types for a comfortable cushion. Worn them casually, not at work yet, where I spend a higher percentage of time on my feet. Tread feels good and actually a true neutral sole especially at the heel felt really good.

I've had these shoes for almost a month. I bought them because I walk a lot in the evenings (2-3 mile walks with dog). I was looking a for a form fitting shoe that was ideally zero drop and these had good reviews. The shoes are form fitting, very light, and provide comfortable walking. Based on reviews and guidance when ordering I ordered my actual size (8.5W). I will say they are true to size if wearing very thin or no socks. I typically wear wool socks every day and keep them on after work. Although not super thick, the socks make for a snug fit in these shoes and don't necessarily let my feet breath the way I would like. Kind of makes for slightly uncomfortable wearing. However when I switch to thinner socks the shoes fit and function exactly as I hoped. My work shoes are 8.5 wide and fit well with wool socks. These shoes are 8.5 wide but require thin socks for the best fit for me.

I hate how comfortable these are. I hate that they are so much better than the New Balances I tried on the same week I bought these. But it’s undeniable: these shoes are a deal at $40. The wide toe and zero drop sole make thes feel very natural. There’s still enough cushion for normal running on pavement and some trails. I have put about 20 miles a week on these since August and am now seeing significant wear on the heels after more than 150 miles of running and some time worn around town. I can’t complain about that performance, especially at this price. I will probably run with these until Christmas and replace them then because I’m cheap.

I hate shoes in general. I usually live in sandals or bare foot. That being said, I love these shoes. I have very wide, VERY flat feet, with big toes that stick straight out, and that do not curve in like so many shoes want them to do. I joke about my feet being claustrophobic, but it’s only half way a joke. I hate tight, confining, hot, sweaty shoes. These are light weight, breathable, and have plenty of room for my toes to be comfortable. I wear them mostly for walks, and I can get around my 3 mile loop with my feet still happy and not feeling like pain stumps. As was often the case with the shoes I was using previously. The reasons I didn’t give these 5 stars is because there is no arch support, so I had to buy some, and the top edge by the laces started to fray although I cannot detect anything rubbing there. Neither of those is a deal breaker however, and I still love them.

I've been suffering from plantar fasciitis for 6 months and read about barefoot shoes. I wanted to try that but want some padding. These shoes deliver. The shoe has excellent ventilation. Extremely lightweight. The sole is more padded and thicker than a barefoot shoe but is an excellent balance for me. The profile is pretty flat. No arch support - which has turned out to be great for my plantar fasciitis. The heel is NOT raised. Padding is consistent throughout the shoe. I have seen shoes with more padding but this is a reasonable compromise between extreme softness and a barefoot shoe. You can feel rocks under the shoe etc, but the sole protects. I find the flat shoe and lack of arch encourages my foot to land more on the ball or toes, spreading the load as my foot lands which ends up reducing my heel pain. I did some hiking with these shoes. They seem tough enough. The airy fabric did let some trail dust through. They are comfortably cool shoes. Regarding sizing - there are no half sizes which is a little unfortunate. I went a 1/2 size larger. They are big on me but it's still able to hold my foot pretty securely. I have probably excess room in the toe box, but thats nice. Not the greatest lateral control because they're so big. But comfortable for me. I also tries a 1/2 size smaller. It's a little too small. Still comfortable most of the time, except when heading downhill my toes cram into the front of the shoe. Overall I'd suggest going up the 1/2 size, but it may end up too big. Overall highly recommend for someone wanting to try a barefoot style shoe that has padding.

if your tired of pricing for Ultra shoes these are a good replacement. I don't know how many miles they'll last but they seem fine so far and they are still comfortable
