I am into my first month of this shoe. It is one of the first 2 types I am trying as I attempt to transition to the Zero-Lift/Drop style of shoe. I chose this brand for its good price (at the time, in the $30-40 range). YEAHS: ***FIT > Fits my extra wide foot well. Company made it easier for me to determin which of their sizes I should try. That said, it took 3 tries to get the correct and most comfortable fit. ***APPEARENCE > Looks nice. Obviously has a larger toe box ("DAH!" to all of those reviews of this type of shoe that failed to do your most basic research into what these shoes are like!), but it does not look "clown-like." Easy to get on and off. Easy to tie. Good feel of the ground with no insert, while using the insert (and loosening up my laces just a bit more) gives me the same relative feel + a little more cushion. ***FEEL/FLEX > Feels nice. Very flexible and I feel the ground well with them as I walk. ***WEIGHT > VERY lightweight; making my "normal" shoes feel like boots! NEAS: ***NOISE > Yup - it squeeks if you slip it along certain floors! ***APPEARENCE > If you do not adjust the tounge corretly, it looks "creased" on the top of the toe box. ***DURABILITY > Not yet determined, but so far seems to be doing okay in the initial phases of wear (More to come on that later on). ... show more

Well-made shoe. Large toebox. My 9 1/2 Wides have plenty of room for my toes and the heel is not loose on my foot at all. This is not a hilking shoe, but seems designed for comfort around the house or jaunts to the market or movies. The canvas upper and soft rubber sole are newly stylish in this lowtop model. Why did you pick this product vs others?: I originally wanted these as a different form of Splays. I was not impressed. I have destroyed them in 4 months. As a daily driver they will not last 7 months. Flexibility: They are flexible. A zero drop. I can feel the ground Beneath me. Functionality: They aren’t very functional if you are wanting a shoe that last 400 miles or 1 year. If you are looking for a shoe that looks stylish for a year they aren’t great either. I bought these for doing squats and deadlifts at the gym. They are fantastic for this purpose! They are wide enough to feel comfortable at the bottom of a squat, but not so loose that they flop around on me. They are thin enough on the bottom that I can definitely feel the floor when driving through; I wouldn't do a lot of long distance running. They seem well constructed and have put up with my workouts over the last few months. Once my current pair wears out, I'll try to get these again. ... show more

I needed a decent shoe to replace my old Vans for gym and casual wear. Got these on sale, and they are great. Same look and feel, but more comfortable toe box. I'm not into the stock insert since it has zero cushion, so I paired these with my insert of choice- a $20 Dr. Scholl's work insole. They are now my most comfortable shoe, yet also the cheapest even after adding on the additional insole purchase. It's surprising how much the wider toe box helps with my lower body lifts. My balance is better on squat and deadlift, and as a result my legs feel like they work more "properly" now. My ankles and calves are working harder since my toes can properly spread. My lifts have a bit more power and control to them now, so I'd definitely recommend these if you need a good low-cost gym shoe. Some downsides: -QC may be spotty, the tongue on my right shoe is slightly off-center due to extra fabric on the outer side. Almost unnoticeable during wear, but I know it's there and so kinda bothers me. - As mentioned above, if you are like me and not into the whole barefoot shoe thing and are only interested in a foot-shaped shoe, you may have to buy an insole separately. The stock insoles can be hard on the feet even for me coming from a rubber sandal-wearing culture. Will update if any other issues arise. ... show more
