Very comfortable, wide toe box, light weight!

I've only had these on for about 20 minutes, but they are very comfortable. They're light weight, fit snug around the heel and have plenty of rooms for the piggies to spread out. Soles are also very flexible and give good "feedback". What I mean by that is if I step on my phone charger cord I can feel it. Feels like I'm wearing 2-3 pairs of thick socks. They might feel small when you first put them on. When I put them on I thought my big toes were pushed up against the front end. In reality, I have about 1/4 inch between my big toes and the end of the shoe but the canvas is low so I can feel it touching the tip of my toenails. I'm sure overtime that will work itself out. One of the attached pictures shows where the end of my toe is compared to the end of the shoe. Love them so far, wearing them to work tomorrow so we'll see how they feel after 10 hours on a concrete floor.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: April 20, 2024 I've had these for a couple of weeks now. Pros: - The shoes is very well made, very high quality. - The Canvas seems to be just the right thickness. Not too thin or heavy. - Weight is good for the price. - Shoe box is good - toes are not cramped, but I have been wearing traditional, western shoes, so my toes are formed to them. - Zero Drop seems good. - They have nice padding on the inside, but some may consider this to be a "Con". Cons: - Soles are fairly flexible, but maybe not as much as some of the more expensive Barefoot shoes. These probably aren't the best Zero Drop, Barefoot, shoes on the market, but they may be at this price. =============================== UPDATE: April 11, 2025 I've had 2 pairs of these for a year. I wear one pair in the house and the other pair when I go out. Last year I averaged 6 miles of walking per day. That was almost 5 Million steps! (4.9M to be exact) Both pairs are holding-up well and still look great - I don't see any noticeable wear. I walk mainly on sidewalks and going to stores. And I haven't noticed any popping or squeaking sounds that others have mentioned.

Minimal shoe, minimal cost, great quality

I needed a decent shoe to replace my old Vans for gym and casual wear. Got these on sale, and they are great. Same look and feel, but more comfortable toe box. I'm not into the stock insert since it has zero cushion, so I paired these with my insert of choice- a $20 Dr. Scholl's work insole. They are now my most comfortable shoe, yet also the cheapest even after adding on the additional insole purchase. It's surprising how much the wider toe box helps with my lower body lifts. My balance is better on squat and deadlift, and as a result my legs feel like they work more "properly" now. My ankles and calves are working harder since my toes can properly spread. My lifts have a bit more power and control to them now, so I'd definitely recommend these if you need a good low-cost gym shoe. Some downsides: -QC may be spotty, the tongue on my right shoe is slightly off-center due to extra fabric on the outer side. Almost unnoticeable during wear, but I know it's there and so kinda bothers me. - As mentioned above, if you are like me and not into the whole barefoot shoe thing and are only interested in a foot-shaped shoe, you may have to buy an insole separately. The stock insoles can be hard on the feet even for me coming from a rubber sandal-wearing culture. Will update if any other issues arise.

Bought three versions, each a different color. I'd say that the colors are true to the photos and the sizing is correct. These are wide shoes so if you don't normally order wide then these will not fit you. One important thing to note is that these are NOT for hiking or any rough terrain. These are only for level surfaces and easy walking since the soles are pretty thin and you can feel what you are walking on. They work for around town and such, but I wouldn't go crazy.

I absolutely love these shoes! I’ve been wearing Altra’s for years but I’m new to barefoot shoes. I got a pair of Xero’s for the gym and liked them so I bought these to wear to the office because my Cole Haan’s were strangling my duck feet. It took a couple of days to get used to having so little cushion, but my feet are much happier now! I initially ordered a 12 based on the size guide after measuring my feet. They were uncomfortably small. I returned the 12s and ordered a 13 (what I normally wear); they fit perfectly! For comparison, the Whitins feel like they have thicker soles than my Xero Prios. The Whitin soles are way thinner than my Altras.

Other than the sizing issue noted below, I love these shoes. They are lightweight and comfortable and I love being able to flex and wiggle my toes. The traction is so good that they don't slip on a vinyl or laminate floor like many other shoes do. I recommend buying 1/2 size larger than usual. Here's why: I bought a size 8 and found that it lacks the toe wiggle room of "WHITIN Women's Canvas/Leather Barefoot Shoes | Wide Width Minimalist Sneakers | Classic Fit Low Top" in size 9.5. According to the size charts, the measurements are supposed to be identical, but they pressed down on the top of my toes until I removed the insole. The women's 9.5 is almost an inch longer than my feet and the men's 8 gives me less than 1/2 inch. The result is my toes bump the end of the shoe when going down hill. I will order again, but next time I will order an 8.5.
