  • Good barefoot choice, but toe box is narrow.
Size: 10 Color: 3-1_ Black
I like the construction on these a lot so far. I live in Hawaii, so I prefer my feet to be able to breathe. These really allow that due to the mesh design, and so they stay comfortable where other shoes I use are not. I often wear a size 44 but I've been getting 43 lately, as I did with these, and it fits great with little to no excess toe room (which I like because it makes the shoe feel snug and form fitted). I'd say they are true to size. The sole has a bit more rubber than my typical preference but again in Hawaii this is nice because I spend a lot of time on lava rocks which absolutely demolishes barefoot shoes. My only complaint is that the toe box is narrow. My feet, despite wearing barefoot for nearly a decade, remain rather narrow. So this works for me. But if you have wide feet or your toes have a healthy spread, these are going to be too narrow for you. Check the measurements and consider how you like shoes to fit. These will feel good, comfortable and breathable for most people I think, but if you know you have wider feet or a wider toe spread, just know that you're pushing it with these shoes. That being said, I would totally buy them again and recommend them. ... show more

  • 5k run, deadlifting, hiking -- perfection!
Size: 10 Color: Black/Gum
I've always had a hard time buying shoes (as a woman with size 11 feet!) but also because they always seemed to cause cramping, blisters on my heels, jammed my big toe, or felt too narrow. These solved every problem I've had. I paired them with thick socks for a 5k I ran, after training up using ONLY these shoes for running in neighborhoods and on the track for 2 months. For me, I do have some impact pain on the ball of my foot and my big toe after the race, but sooooo much better than cramping and having to compensate by turning my foot inwards to run. It's solved all my problems and I'm excited to see what happens when I wear Whitins for more than a few months. Perfect shoes for leg day so you can go from ultra flat for deadlifts, to flexible for calf raises due to the thin and flexible design. Also used this for hiking/ rock climbing and the grip is amazing! I recommend these shoes to everyone!! ... show more

  • I normally wear a 13W, but this 12.5 (46) fits great.
Size: 12.5 Color: 1_ Black
This shoe was not available in a 13, only 12.5 or 13.5. Glad I chose the 12.5. Plenty of toe room. Very light and comfortable. Would not recommend as a workout shoe as the inserts are very flimsy and with the zero drop, it would not be all that stable. It is, however, a great walking shoe. I replaced the inserts with fitted Dr. Scholl's inserts. You can get a perfect fit for the inserts, anywhere there is a Dr. Scholl's kiosk. Got mine at Walmart. Well worth the upgrade. ... show more

  • Not too shabby
Size: 12.5 Color: 2_ Camo Green
So I've been dealing with heal pain for over a year now. I found the keen targhee and they helped a ton but only for a little while. Heard about barefoot shoes and came across these. So far they're surprising me. I really figure I would feel more rock and suck like some of the other reviews mentioned, I feel them but just barely.. extremely tolerable. The ONLY thing I'm not crazy about is the tightness over the top of the foot but atleast they won't kick off.. ha. Got the green camo.. purty sharp.👍 Oh... order a a half size bigger! ... show more

  • Pleased. Definitely city shoes though.
Size: 8.5 Color: 3-1_ Black
I was complaining to a coworker about how I didn’t want to spend money on pricey shoes and was too introverted to go shopping for them in a store. He showed me his shoes and said he got them here cheap. So I bought a pair but they were too big. It would help a great deal if you KNOW WHAT EUROPEAN FOOT SIZE YOU ARE because my normal size 9 shoe size was too big (like a whole thumb length). So I measured my feet (41 European) and used the chart to see that it was their 8.5 size. Reordered and it fit perfectly. After wearing them around in the warehouse I work at, they seem GOOD QUALITY FOR THE PRICE. I should mention that that the sole is pretty thin and it’s basically a GLORIFIED SLIPPER, but that doesn’t matter too much. If you plan on walking on concrete or flat surfaces these shoes do their job. However, you can FEEL WHATEVER SURFACE YOU’RE WALKING ON. You can even feel a small pebble when you step on it. It’s NOT DESIGNED FOR ROCKY/OFF-ROAD AREAS which is why I say they’re city shoes. While these shoes have laces/strings, they CAN BE SLIPPED ON OR OFF WITH EASE. Literally just slip them off and on again in less than three seconds. Note: My coworker warned me to avoid getting the fabric of these shoes wet. Apparently, they SMELL WHEN WET. He also mentioned that throwing them in a WASHING MACHINE WILL FIX THE PROBLEM. Fairly sure you’ll have to air dry them though. ... show more

  • first barefoot shoes
Size: 10 Color: Black/Gum
First time getting barefoot shoes. Overall, I like them compared to non-barefoot shoes. I get a lot of ankle/foot issues. This has been more comfortable. There does seem to be a slight design issue where the shoe sort of presses against the top side of my foot at times or on a particular spot on the bottom. It happens really only in the one shoe. I still get the same pain and issues, but at least now my feet are somewhat more comfortable, and these have turned me to the worlds of minimalist shoes. One other issue is I may not even have the right size, but they don't have the half size I usually wear. It's the only half-size I don't see as an option as well. 9 1/2, currently I have 10, I think just 9 would be too small. At least it's not an option at the time I'm reviewing this. ... show more

  • Nice shoe, but runs small
Size: 13.5 Color: Black/Gum
Usually I could wear a size 13, but 13.5 was too small for me on this shoe. Otherwise, the construction is nice. The whole body of the shoe is knit, except for the plastic rectangles that the laces feed through on each side. The back slopes forward a bit, which may be why I felt my feet being pushed to the front of the shoe. I ordered a size 15 in another Whitin product ("WHITIN Men's Trail Running Shoes Minimalist Barefoot"), and that fits me well. I think it doesn't hurt to order two sizes up for these. ... show more
