  • A terrific shoe at a great price
Size: 9 Wide Color: W51 Green Gum
These are my first pair of minimalist shoes and I am very pleased with them. I have narrow feet and normally wear sneakers in a size 9.5. I purchased these in 9.5 wide and they fit perfectly. The shoes hug my feet and are very light. Inside, they have a thin removable insole that helps when walking on hard surfaces. I be wearing them with the insole because it does not reduce their flexibility and I’m not quite ready to go with a fully minimal foot bed. The quality is really good. The shoes are light as a feather and as comfortable as a pair of slippers. They also look great with jeans or shorts. These are an excellent choice whether you are new to minimalist shoes or just want a pair that doesn’t cost a fortune. ... show more

  • Excellent shoe! Best shoe I've ever had
Size: 11 Wide Color: W51 All Black
I've tried many minimalist barefoot shoes, this particular shoe is an excellent blend of everything I need. Rugged aggressive tread for hiking. Extra wide toe box with a canvas top, which means essentially no break-in needed. Comfortable right off the bat! And of course the zero drop heal makes me feel planted and helps my feet to spread. They're not flimsy like some other brands of minimalist shoes, they're a good blend of rugged sturdiness but still flexible and grippy. I am definitely buying more of these in the future! ... show more

  • good running shoe but loose fit
Size: 8 Wide Color: W51 Dark Grey
There wasn’t an inherent issue with the shoe itself. The construction was solid, and the design was lightweight, soft, and delivered the barefoot feel I was specifically looking for. However, the primary reason I decided to return it was due to the fit. I ordered the wide option, but it turned out to be too wide for my preference. It felt slightly loose during my testing, which ultimately led me to feel less secure and comfortable while wearing it. Because of this, I rated the shoe 4 stars instead of 5, as the fit didn’t fully meet my expectations. ... show more

  • Quick general shoe
Size: 13 Wide Color: W51 Taupe Gum
These are great! This is my second pair. They have a nice wide toe box so it doesn’t feel like you toes are being jammed together. The tread on these are a little softer than the ones I bought two years ago, which was a good improvement. I use them as general everyday shoes and for working out( not running). The color on these are more of a very light grey, not a beige which is what I thought they would be but overall a great product for the price!! ... show more

  • Comfortable but coming apart
Size: 11 Wide Color: W51 Green Gum
Great flexibility and comfort in these shoes. I use them mainly as a walking shoe and after after two months of use, the sides are ungluing :(. Return window has closed but, I hope they can fix the quality of the sole.

  • Best replacement I have found for Lems Primal 2
Size: 10 Wide Color: W51 Black Gum
I have been heartbroken over the Lems, Primal 2 being discontinued. The Primal 3 does not even feel like a minimalist shoe and I cant walk 2 miles in them without a blister. I am a former long distance runner with a bunion and foot issues who converted to minimalist shoes, short distance running, and weights. The Primal 2 has kept me active and pain free for 7+ years. I have been trying several brands/styles and these are the closest I have found and they work with my correct toe spacers. This brand was recommended by a PT. They look good, feel great, and you can't beat the price. No breaking in, perfect right out of the box. Thank you! ... show more

  • Excellent at the price and stylish too!
Size: 10 Wide Color: W51 Dark Grey
I purchased a black pair on a hunch and was so pleasantly surprised that I bought a dark grey pair a few days later. Zero-drop shoes are most comfortable for me when exercising and for casual wear. In the past, I purchased Altras for both. Altra stopped making the simple black casual shoes. The newer model running shoes don't appeal to me. And both styles are overpriced at $120-$140. These feel great. They'll equal the short life of Altras, and they're suitable for casual business dress, all for significantly less money. The sizing is European, so if you're on the line (I'm between a 10-10.5, size up). ... show more

  • Good shoes but not as barefoot as they say
Size: 10 Wide Color: W51 Dark Grey
I bought these shoes after getting the "WHITIN Men's Wide Minimalist Barefoot Sneakers Ultimate Relaxation" style thinking they would be the same. They're not. They are much narrower than the "relaxation" shoes, which I think are the best cheap barefoot shoes you can buy mostly because of the ultra wide toebox. So be careful, these are much narrower and if you have wide feet, you will either need to upsize or get another variety and hope for the best. Check the photo to see how much narrower they are than the wide barefoot shoes. That's the reason why I only gave it four stars. That being said, I decided to keep them anyway (after first wanting to return them). Although they're narrower than the wide barefoot version, there's still plenty of room for toe splay and the narrower fit gives a little more stability in the instep. Your foot doesn't slide around as much, but it's also a little confining. I'm going to use them as a transitional running shoe. They are zero-drop and have a wide-ish toebox, so they're better than a traditional pointy-toed running shoe, but they have some stack height and padding in the insole. In fact, I think that's the best use for these - as a transitional mid-point between old school pointy shoes and full-on barefoot shoes. The tread is aggressive and would probably do very well on a trail run. The sole is still flexible like a barefoot shoe, which is good, but the added height provides more protection. They also look pretty good, but a lot of that comes down to the lack of toebox width, which eliminates the clown-shoe look of a lot of barefoot shoes but at the cost of not really being a barefoot shoe. I'm learning a lot about Whitin shoes and while I like them a lot, I hope they start making shoes that are more like the wide barefoot shoes than these. It seems like with these shoes, they wanted to make barefoot shoes, but didn't want to go too far to alienate regular shoe buyers. It does make for a decent transitional sneaker, but if they're serious about barefoot shoes, they need to put that extra-wide toebox on everything that they call barefoot shoes. UPDATE: I've worn these for a few runs now and also for a few walks. I like them more every time I use them. They're OK for running, but they are perfect as a walking shoe. I'll keep running in them as I don't want to wear them out too quickly. Once it gets warmer out I'll start running outdoors and give another update. ... show more
