  • Good solution for roller skis
Color: Black/Blue Size: 44: 12 Women/10.5 Men
I decided to try rollerskis, but using my watertight, non-breathable XC ski boots really did not seem like a summer thing. I could not find any shoes made specifically for warm-weather XC, other than ones that cost much more than my rollerskis and poles combined, so I tried these, as they are advertised as breathable at least. Most of the time, I've not noticed them being too warm. Feet get a little sweaty when the sun is out at 90 degrees F, but really, how can one complain about that? At least for me, after about 25 miles so far, this is a good solution! ... show more

  • Runs small, 2 sizes for women’s 8.5
Color: Black/Blue Size: 41: 9.5 Women/8.5 Men
Seems well made for price. Usually take 10.5,(this boot too small) sometimes 11 (OK). For usual women’s 8.5 was much too narrow, needed 2 EU sizes bigger. Yes, laces slip in eyelets. Insoles OK for now, but may need durable orthotics eventually.

  • Great insulation, support, but toe box is roomy and causing blisters.
Color: Black/Blue Size: 46: 14 Women/12 Men
Perhaps I didn't get the right size, but my old boots were size 46 (US 12M) and about as old as me (hand-me-downs). I ordered the same expecting them to fit, which they do lengthwise, but the toe box is so roomy that the crease formed from flexing in the bindings consistently produces blisters atop my little(r) toes after about 4 miles of skiing. I have tried buddy taping, different socks, and even doubling up my socks to fill the toe box more, but the blisters still persist. I will likely shelf these and pursue other sturdier boots. To boot (yes, pun intended), the laces slip like crazy through the eyelets which make it quite difficult to tighten them uniformly. For the record, however, my girlfriend has the 3-pin variant of these boots and loves the crap out of them. I can also attest to their ankle support, insulation, and waterproofness. My biggest gripe is how they function in the NNN bindings on my feet–they are just not for me. So if you really want these because of their competitive pricing, I would be sure that you size down to ensure that loose boots do not generate too much movement from within. ... show more

  • Nice boots, for the most part
Color: Black/Blue Size: 46: 14 Women/12 Men
These boots fit fine (46) and are nice for the price. The only thing I could possibly complain about are the cheap insoles. After one time using them I had blisters on my heels (which could have been my socks) but the insoles were all bunched up at the heels. I took them out and replaced them with gel insoles and no blisters and skiing in them was a joy. I would definitely buy again, though. ... show more

  • Subpar materials, non-existent quality assurance.
Color: Black/Blue Size: 43: 11 Women/9.5 Men
The boots are well designed and comfortable. But the positives stop here. Whitewoods (the brand of Erik Sports) evidently does not employ any quality assurance protocol. The insoles were glued in with a wrong glue that didn't hold at all. Not a huge problem - I glued them in myself. But then this: the metal rod that works with the bindings is made of soft, subpar steel, chrome-plated for better looks. First I noticed the rust (after the very first use). Then the whole thing deformed. And I don't want to hear any lecturing about "abuse". One image shows my 20 years old Rossignol boot (the blue one). Yes, after twenty years of frequent use. The other - the Whitewoods after 2 months (the black one). This is garbage. Now I need new boots for the remainder of the season, and needless to say - it will be a long time before I give Whitewoods another try. Edit: The brand owner (Erik Sports) immediately offered a replacement! I can only hope the manufacturer (the manufacturing is evidently outsourced to Asia) stopped using inferior steel. I intend to keep updating this review. Edit #2, Jan. 31 The replacement boots promptly shipped by Erik Sports have arrived. I took them for the test. After 2 hours of skiing - again rust on the rods, indicating the same soft steel. ... show more

  • run SMALL
Color: Black/Blue Size: 39: 8.5 Women/7 Men
These cross country ski boots are quite nice for the price, but unfortunately they run extremely small. I ordered a whole size larger than I usually wear and they still had to be returned.
