    • Smells like soap!

I bought two bags of this gravel for a new fish tank I'm setting up. I rinsed the first batch and it was fine. When I opened the second bag though, the gravel smelled like soap. I rinsed it and it didn't foam up, but the scented soap smell got stronger! I kept rinsing and rinsing and stirring and scrubbing, but the smell wouldn't go away. I had my husband sniff it to confirm, and he said yep, that's a strong soap smell. Now I don't know if I should throw it out or risk putting fish in the tank. This is literally just rocks meant for decoration, they don't need anything added to them! I don't know what chemical was added and why, but the smell is overpowering and so absolutely unnecessary on ROCKS!!! ... show more
