My cats usually love catnip & I don't like the usual stuff that comes with hard pieces & stems. My cats didn't seem to like this catnip & I'm guessing because it was very fine. The media could not be loaded. So, there's this....I bought this to put in my daughter's Christmas stocking because she loves presents for her cats as much as she loves them for herself. I decided to test our cat's reaction prior to wrapping it to make sure that she wouldn't be disappointed in the effect. I opened the bag wide enough to give him a good whiff. That's when it hit the fan. He shoved his entire head in the bag...actually, it was his whole head and neck, if I'm being honest. Using his acute spazziness as a gauge, I felt that the efficacy of the product had been proven. Case closed. Question answered. I tried to pull it away from him. Big mistake. As I was attempting to get him out of the bag, he swatted it, dug his claws into the plastic, and yanked it back towards him, spilling some on both my chair and the floor. Apparently seizing his opportunity to get his paws on the goods, he leapt off of the chair, and did a face plant onto the tile. His front half was on the floor, but his back half was totally upright, and he push-walked himself through the catnip spillage like a jacked up, crack-fueled wheelbarrow. Once he reached the end of the pile, he jumped straight up (think cucumber cat), and climbed the leg of my chair. It's a normal dining room chair with wooden legs, that he could've very easily just jumped right up on, but clearly, in that moment, he felt it needed to be scaled like a mighty oak. The next 25 minutes were filled with him attacking his own limbs, drooling like he took 5 novocaine shots to the jaw, spinning in circles, and hanging half of his body upside-down off the edge of the chair for absolutely no discernible reason. Goes crazy for this stuff I bought the kind with the stems in it as it was a bit cheaper. Tiny sticks were annoying so I put it in our vita mix gave it a whirl and the sticks are gone and everyone is happy.
