I was looking for a corner desk that was minimal in depth and still a pretty good size because the room it is in is not that big. This desk ended up being perfect for me. I really like the look of it as well. The desk is very sturdy and was easy to put together. You do need to pay attention to the screws you grab. There is obviously virtually no storage so I plan to buy a filing cabinet or something to put next to it. The only drawback, if you can say there is one, is when you try to hide/run cables so it doesn't look too sloppy. I knew this would be a possible issue when buying it, but I think I did pretty good job of hiding them or at least making them look somewhat neat. My friends really liked it as well. If you buy this desk, I doubt you'll be unhappy with it. ... show more

ASSEMBLY: I love that this desk is reversible. We actually had it in a separate location and then moved it which resulted in us needing to flip the L-shape. One piece of advice: when reassembling, pay extra attention to the long vs short screws and where each goes. I accidentally grabbed a long one when we moved and reassembled it and poked a small hole in the top of the desk. It was easily repaired with wood glue, but frustrating (and completely my fault). There are a lot of pieces to assemble, but it was easy to follow the instructions and put it together. You need to do the assembly in the correct order or you won't be able to put the two sides onto the corner correctly and you'll have to disassemble to go back. STYLE/COLOR: I wanted a desk with an industrial look. So, I like the metal frame. The grey-brown was a perfect color for me. It can look more orange in the light of some review pictures, so I wasn't sure, but it is closer to the stock photo on the listing (driftwood-esque color). It does have striations in the "wood" pattern, as pictured. This is not a defect. It is the look of the desk. If you are not a fan of this slight distressed look, I do not recommend this desk. SIZE: This desk is sturdy, and dimensions are exactly as advertised. MY ONLY CON: I now have books on the top shelf. The only disappointing thing is that since the bookshelf frame has an S-shape, you can only put books on one shelf. They fall off the other unless you push them to the back or get a bookend. I don't need a floor piece for a desktop computer, but my trashcan fits nicely on it. ... show more

I spent hours researching a desk. My old one was 22" deep, and I knew I wanted one with as much desktop depth as possible, since my keyboard and monitor take up around 20" on their own. Before I bought this one, I measured and taped off exactly where it should sit within my room. This one is only 21", which it was clearly marked as 23.7" on the product listing. This means that my monitor is exactly 18 inches from my face, which is absolutely killing my eyes after just a few hours - absolutely no one should sit this close to a screen. This desk is simply not deep enough for use with a monitor. The amazon app doesn't say "black oak" it just says "black", so this weird dirty old wood color wasn't what I wanted or expected. Putting this together was a simple processes, but many of the pieces had irregularities in manufacturing, ie, they didn't line up square, brackets were 1/4" away from the end of the piece, holes didn't line up, one side of the main desk section is longer than the other, random holes to nowhere in the shelves and the desktop, etc, making the whole thing rather wonky. I managed to get it put together, but it's not super stable and wiggles when I type quickly, even after going back through every screw and bolt to retighten it TWICE. I should have known better. I'm so angry I want to burn it (but I can't, because I work from home and my livelihood literally rests on this desk). If you risk it, invest in eyedrops and learn to weld. ... show more

I'm so glad I found this. I've needed to upgrade my entertainment space for awhile and after careful consideration this unit seemed to fit exactly where I needed it to after measuring the space. It took me a little while but for the most part I thought it was easy to put together. The hardest part was getting the screws into the underside of the wood panels at the very end. I would recommend having your own hex tool and screwdriver. This unit does come with the required tools but they're the very small throw away type and you're going to be able to get it put together faster with your own. I waited a while to leave a review just in case anything happened, but... This desk is absolutely amazing! I was very skeptical just because things aren’t normally like the pictures, but I was pleasantly surprised by this. The color is slightly more brown than grey, but it is still gorgeous. Plenty of workspace and sturdy. The orientation option is nice, too. But read the instructions more carefully than I did to avoid starting the "A" configuration assembly when you might actually want the "B".

GREAT desk. Looks good, easy to assemble, sturdy, exactly what I wanted. The only negative would be the amount of styrofoam used in packaging. Kinda what you expect from China.
