Description

“A really excellent book about shooting weddings, that actually provides the beginner with some really practical and useful advice. Rosie has a real knack of breaking down and explaining the different elements of photographing a wedding in an easy to follow manner. I especially liked Rosie's advice on shooting wedding portraits. I would definitely recommend this book to those thinking of shooting their first wedding.” Matt Foden, Foden Photography “I wish this book had been available when I first started photographing weddings! No nonsense guide to ensuring you capture all the key moments and people on the day. Highly recommended read for those starting out in the wedding industry or for those returning after an absence.” Caroline Smyth, Caroline Smyth Photography “I thought this was a thoughtfully written and incredibly comprehensive how-to book. It felt like I was talking to a friend - Rosie was friendly, encouraging and confident. I'm not a wedding photographer (I shoot newborns and maternity), and the idea of shooting a wedding gives me the heebie jeebies! But I can definitely see that having read this book, I would feel armed to tackle a wedding.” Emma Jackson, Paper Lotus Photography If you’ve recently been asked to photograph your first wedding, you may be wondering what you’ve let yourself in for! • Great book on Wedding Photography tips
I highly recommend this book if you love taking photos and someone has asked you to take photos for their wedding (and it will be your very first wedding gig!). Rosie Parsons is a good writer: This book is easy to read and follow. Rosie gives all the details and steps for every important wedding day from start to finish, and even post-photography work (after the wedding day). This book is full of great illustrations and examples of what she is teaching, also providing the lens and camera settings for each photo / illustration. I noticed that lenses she uses mostly for weddings are Canon prime lenses: 35mm L, 50mm L, 85mm L, and sometimes two zoom lenses, namely the 70-200 2.8 II, and 16-35mm L once in a while, but mostly the first three. Interestingly, she never mentioned using the 24-70mm 2.8 L lens. After reading and learning from her, I can see why! Rosie is a great photographer and I highly recommend this book if you are not confident in shooting a wedding. ... show more

  • Wonderful read for learning all aspects of wedding photography
I have been interested in learning about wedding photography for a long time as a potential part-time opportunity or potential career change at some point. However, I have always been concerned that I really don't know all that is required in order to delight a wedding couple and exceed their expectations. I found this book extremely valuable, jammed packed with great information on how the wedding day should be planned from a photographer's perspective, technical camera setting information, key shots to take, and the business/money considerations on how you should charge for your services. I read it cover to cover and am very impressed with the quality of content and advice. ... show more

  • Thoughtfully written
I appreciate the practicality of this book... The checklists and the logic. Improvement areas are the blurriness of her photos for kindle version and she shoots so wide open she lost beautiful details that are important to most brides and grooms. In addition she doesn't support album and wall art sales in this book she just gives digitals. Excellent bang for the buck and I will refer others to this book without hesitation ... show more

  • I recommend you buy this book.
I bought this book to prepare for my first wedding job. The job went well, the clients were very happy, and I was asked to do two more weddings because of it. Think what you want.

There is a lot of good information -just wasn't exactly what I was looking for. I will keep it as a reference. The break down by times, photos, and camera settings will help someone get an idea of what to do next
