Overall this is a useful addition to the Jeep. The rear cargo area 'carpet' material is prone to stains and difficult to clean and vacuum. Plant needles, weed stems and burrs firmly attach themselves the cargo area fabric. Fitment: The fit is good, but not ideal for me. Accessing the spare tire compartment for tools and misc supplies is made somewhat difficult because the 'cupped' side edges on the Weathertech liner firmly rub against the sides of cargo area, preventing the spare tire cover from being lifted easily or at all. Some may say the cargo area should be completely unloaded before accessing the spare tire compartment, but that is often inconvenient or unnecessary. Tested Solution: For a more compliant fit, trimming about 3/4" of material from each side of the Weathertech cargo liner prevents it from rubbing and 'catching' on the sides of the cargo area. To trim, place the cargo liner upside-down onto a large piece of waste cardboard (perhaps use the box the liner was shipped in). Drawing a line with a permanent marker on the bottom side of the liner may help guide your cut. Start the cut about 6-8 inches rearward of the front edge of the liner, to fully retain the rounded corners just behind the rear seat (they help hold the liner in place). Using a sharp utility knife and wearing gloves for safety, cut slowly and carefully. Scissors can work also. Lifting the spare tire cover with the liner, in place is now easy, with no binding. If the cargo in the car is light, you can leave it all there along with the WeaterhTech liner when accessing the spare tire compartment. Color: The "TAN" optional color is actually closer to a medium brown. While it does not match the lighter interior color of our Jeep, Weathertech is nonetheless one of a few (or only?) suppliers offering a several color options. Cleaning: Needless to say the new liner makes the cargo area easy to clean and vacuum, while protecting the original fabric.
