My dog that I adopted recently has a partially collapsed trachea. This was listed as a harness that would not Irritate the trachea area and it seems to be working well. Unfortunately she was not leash trained when she was rescued and I think she may have caused the damage herself when the rescue people were training her. Of all the harnesses I’ve tried this is the clear winner. Easy to put on even a resistant cat, and seems to fit comfortably without bi ding or digging in the way strap halters can. BUT while getting cat used to it indoors, her was able to back himself behind furniture and maneuver himself into a position where he could pull one arm out, which left the harness bunched up with him still in it. I know no safe, comfortable harness is 100% escape-proof, but be aware your care needs to be supervised while wearing this, especially in the early stage of getting them used to it. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. FOUR-YEAR UPDATE: This is the only brand of dog harness I will ever buy or recommend. Three months after my last update, we took in a paralyzed foster terrier when all of the local shelters went into COVID lockdown overnight. That spiraled out of control quickly. Since then we’ve fostered more than 30 dogs with intensive care needs, most fully or partially paralyzed from spinal injuries. Very often our fosters need to wear a harness 24/7 for safety, especially newly disabled dogs who need a service human to help navigate their environment. These are so comfortable for round-the-clock wear, even for allergy prone dogs or those with sensitive skin. These also work well in conjunction with the standard Walkin’ Wheels chest harness for dogs that don’t like the Walkin’ Warrior harness. I put the Voyager harness on first, then the wheelchair chest strap. It’s a very snug, comfortable fit that usually keeps everything properly aligned. Most of our fosters are lowriders with some degree of bladder/bowel incontinence, which makes for A LOT of laundry. It’s very rare that we can use a harness more than 2-3 days in a row without washing. There’s almost always a freshly washed load of harnesses hanging to dry, with plenty of clean ones in the bin ready to go. These Voyager harnesses take a relentless licking and just keep ticking. I’ve now purchased more than 50 of these in every size from XS to XL, and even one XXXS for my best friend’s itty bitty kitty who’s a frequent houseguest. I have yet to find a dog breed under 35 lbs. that can’t fit into one of these. Dachshunds, terriers, yorkies, chihuahuas, poodles, poms, maltese, cockers, frenchies—you name it, I’ll put a Voyager harness on it. My husband made a lovely red and orange braided leash for our granddog. It needed a harness with some red to match the leash. This black and red harness was perfect. The small size fit our little Bichon boy perfectly. He looks like a million dollars in his new harness and leash.

This is the best harness I've found for my dog. I like the combination of velcro, plastic snap locks and double metal attachments for the leash. All said, it makes for a very secure and very comfortable harness. I don't need to worry about adjusting straps to get the proper fit because the velcro allows for ease of proper sizing and comfort fitting. I've found this type of harness available in pet stores and retail store pet departments but only in an extra small size. My dog requires a little larger size so I'm glad the Best Pet Supplies make this type of harness available in all sizes. All in all a great product at a reasonable price. ... show more

Recently rescued a Jack Russell Chihuahua mix who knows how to escape every type collar known to man. No matter how tight around the neck he knows how to back out of every type. When I first bought this I put it away and used only for car leash because it was a bit too big. I bought after learning that pups should never be attached to car leash with a regular collar because they could strangle if in an accident. Now that he has settled in and gained weight this harness keeps him safe and I no longer have to go chasing him. It is easy to put on and he has learned to not fight putting it on and recognizes it means outdoor adventure. It has 3 ways to keep him safe. Adjustable velcro, then clasp an then the metal hooks that holds the leash. I wish there was a goldish color to match his fawn and black hair but for now he is sharp looking in his black vest. ... show more
