The sleeves are long, but I rolled mine up and continued to engage the students. It is typically chilly in the classroom, so the lab coat did add an additional layer of warmth with my short sleeve shirt. I got this for my environmental science lab class and we spent a lot of time outdoors. It didn’t make me get too hot because it is rather thin but I don’t know if that’s a good thing or bad for a lab coat. It was soft and comfortable to wear while sitting down. The material is pretty thick, not too thin. The color is a perfect white, and relatively easy to clean. My only ‘issue’ is that if your are a little curvy, you might not be able to button the coat all of the way down. I have wider hips and couldn’t button a button near my hips. This is a nice lab coat for nursing purposes, but also for Halloween costumes, as well. The price is ten bucks lower than at my local Halloween shoppe. It is light-weight & a longer size for taller people, if they don’t want too short or long of a look. It’s a bit see through, but I was expecting that for the cost. It’s good enough. Size wise- this isn’t the best for your 12 year old. It will be too long. It’s best for taller than that, unless you want it very long. It’s light and airy, and comfortable. It doesn’t break the bank & is a decent find. At least for Halloween.
