The snowshoes are nice enough but the ratchet binders on the toe area tend to not close tightly enough and loosen during a hike. They do not come off of the boot but they do not get tight to the boot or stay as tightly as when the hike starts. All other straps work well. And the snowshoes do remain on my feet. ... show more

I had never snow shoed before. I bought a pair for my son. He went out with them twice and said it was a good workout. So, then I bought a pair for myself and my daughter, and my daughter in law.     • Tread lightly and walk on (Frozen) water!
I've recently just picked up snowshoeing as a hobby. I have hiked many trails without snow, but only a couple in the snow. Having snowshoes up here near Canada is a MUST. I ordered these because they seemed to be a balance of quality and cost. These come with everything you need to get started snowshoeing - however, if you ONLY take this package snowshoeing, you will likely get very cold because there are no clothes involved. The package comes with two snowshoes, two poles, and an easy to carry bag. I was able to get up an shoeing in just a few minutes. The bindings strap on easily to any appropriate winter boot/shoe. I found these to help me get around when snow fall is 6 to 10 inches. It gets icy and vehicles can't move, and I sink in. I look forward to shoeing around my first time. I hope I chose a well constructed buy. They seem an ok basic pair.

    • How to use the ratchet strap
Since I can no longer travel at this time I wanted to try and embrace winter and decided to try some snowshoes. I found I really enjoy this activity and they are not as hard as some people said it would be. What would be ideal is if there was an instruction card that showed you have to go through both openings, (ratchet and quick release). I just assumed the ratchet opening and created an issue immediately. With the help of a friend I was able to get the strap out, but none the less a quick little 5x7 card in the bag on how to properly use the straps would have helped tremendously. ... show more

    • Awesome for a beginner
My wife purchased these. She was tired of renting them. The initial setup took a few minutes, but was very happy with them. She is on the shorter side and like that they were not as wide as others. Much easier for her to walk in.
