Smooth jaws don't hold thin wire (i.e. 28awg and thinner) very well, but otherwise works flawlessly for my purposes. It's about the size of the palm of my hand.

First time I tightened the bottom screw the vise broke. I did not over get it too tight I think it must have been broken when I received it. Get something different this vise is NO GOOD!

When they say mini that's what they mean. It was way smaller than I had thought. But it still seemed pretty sturdy, although you probably can't use it for anything very large at all, it opens up to a pretty decent size. And holds onto the table very good. I like that I can use this as both a clamp or a small, hobby vise. It's $9 so don't expect anything industrial strength, it just isn't. It is quite small, but perfect for what I need it for. Will it stay clamped to the table as well as a $50 vise? No, because it's not $50. It's $9.

    • This product is garbage.
Garbage. I purchased this assuming it would make a good small craft vice. When it arrived, it arrived barely twist-tied onto a mangled cardboard backing. Also, the size is not accurately depicted. This is small. Regardless of the size, I still thought it might be usefully for small projects. As soon as I started to loosen the table clamp, it literally fell apart in my hands. The quality of this vice is so poor. It seems more like a novelty that one would give a child. The caps that keep the screw-turns in place aren't threaded, but simply loose fitting rubber caps. One turn and they will pop off and you get to go scrambling for them. Any attempt to tighten this to a point where it actually holds a project causes the threads to strip and you're done. I bought this mainly for holding fly lures while I wrap and paint them. Tonite, I decided to use it for holding a small wooden flute I was carving, just to sand it down. I didn't apply much pressure, it just snapped after about the 3rd pass, it cannot handle any pressure at all, very cheap metal.
