We used this piece to match a mexican bar we own. The assembly was typical graphics with no or very little verbiage. I have built cabinets like this before, so maybe easier for me to assemble than most. I would say it was complete from box to assembled in less than 2 hours. The description says a waxed finish, and it must be because it took stain very easily. After stain we used chalk paint for the door and drawer fronts. Then dark wax and Clavos nails for additional highlights. We think it turned out great for what we wanted, and a heck of a lot cheaper than purchasing an existing piece from one of the Mexican furniture places here in Phoenix. Here are the items we used: Chalk paint and stain from our local home depot so we could see the colors. Arrived in great condition, found minor flaws in craftsmanship while erecting, I do like this particular style. One flaw was a large hole was manufactured in the side of one of the drawers at a finger joint. I filled it with wood glue that ran so its a mess now. There are tiny nicks in the top finish from the factory. The wax finish is very sparse and missing in a few places. The good thing is that the screws don't strip out at all while building it. The wood is very hard, too, so that is great. I love the solid wood and it smells really good- rustic aroma of this type of pine. Use a power driver there are tons of screws,, so it ends up very sturdy, nice! Project took me over 10 hours spread over 2 days to let wood glue dry for dowels and framework overnight. Watch out for the little detail pictures in the instructions or you will be going back redoing progress. Instructions are only really small pictures with not enough detail of thr pieces, went slowly still made mistakes. Long process, OK worth the effort. Update: since the drawers are not predrilled I found that I had drilled through a drawer front so that was a little disappointing. And, drawer fronts are just too thin.

I initially ordered this product to us as an aquarium stand thinking that everything needed for assembly would be in one box, sadly this was not the case. I received 2 of the exact same items when I only ordered 1. And the items were in poor shape when they arrived. The boxes were damaged, as well as a few pieces of the stand. and several of them were warped. Can't say that I'm happy with it.

DO NOT BUY THIS UNLESS you are — or will employ — a carpenter to assemble it. The instructions SUCK. It is NOT easy to assemble. & You are not even in standard IKEAland. The manufacturer should really supplement with a YouTube video. It took my (incredible) handyman 4 - 5 hours to put it together. I could never have done it myself. Add that cost to the cost of the cabinet and you could do better price-wise with a pre-assembled item.

The package arrived damaged due to cheap tape which caused the ends of the box to partially open. The package containing all of the fittings (screws, drawer pulls, etc.) was missing. I contacted the seller requesting a replacement of the fittings but never received a response. I really wanted to keep this unit, but I don't have the time or desire to go out and find all the pieces at the hardware store. It is a nice piece for the price, a natural solid pine and exactly what I wanted for a specific space.
