  • These are tight like others reviewed. Not good if you're overweight.
Size: 9.5-10 Color: Khaki
I would love to have worn these more than a couple times but I can't until I lose some serious weight to make them fit my feet. I get edema bad in my feet as well. So if I wear these shoes I can't even think of wearing socks with them they are so tight on the top of my foot. I even ordered a size up like suggested and still too tight. But I wore them a couple times and don't think I can return them now. I am disabled and live in poverty so that really sucks. I'll hold onto them until I lose about 50 lbs and try again. Not wearing socks in them caused me two horrible blisters on each foot at the base of my toes going into the padding of the foot before the arch. I also realized another pair of shoes I was wearing weeks before without socks had caused me to get fungus toenails and wearing the vibrams without socks made it much worse. Now I'm having to treat the nails for fungus. So while I did feel like the few times I wore them that they helped my feet issues in some ways, like my balance and feeling heavy footed when walking with other bulky walking shoes, it caused issues in other ways that make them unwearable. Will update my review if/when I lose weight and try then again. I just honestly can't recommend these shoes if you're overweight. ... show more

  • Runs small. Order up at least one size. Great shoe, unfortunately I had to return them.
Size: 8-8.5 Color: Khaki
The shoe runs small. I love the style. Not much of arch support but if you order right size they would fit like a glove. No room to wear socks.

  • Daily Wear Approved
Size: 10.5-11 Color: Khaki
I've used Vibram Five Fingers for the gym for years, but never as a daily wear shoe. My knees were starting to bother me with my sketchers and I had also heard whispers about the minimalist shoe movement so I decided to take a chance. I am not disappointed with these. Transitioning to these was probably the best decision in my life. While slowly increasing the wear time over several weeks, I noticed progressively less pain and irritation from my knees by the end of the day. While I do still occasionally get a twinge if I step wrong, it's nowhere near as bad when it happens when I'm wearing regular shoes. Obviously these can't repair the damage done by years of wrong walking and running, but they can certainly mitigate continued damage by promoting proper walking style and form. A great thing about these are they are airy for the top of your foot and lightweight. My feet never feel like they are overheating in these. Not like they use to in standard shoes. I do recommend several pairs of good quality toes socks, though they are not required, as they will significantly reduce your foot odor by the end of the day. Which brings me to the only negative of any Vibram Five Fingers shoes. Foot odor. The bottoms of your feet tend to get quite stinky, less so with toe socks. So remember to wash your shoes in the washer at least once a week, then let them air dry on the floor. If the odor bothers you, remember to wash your feet after taking the shoes off and you'll be golden. I suppose I should mention their fit too. I never realized how loose and poorly fitting my other Five Fingers were until I tried the Hemp walking shoe. They literally fit like a glove. They are snug, secure, and fit my toe length perfectly. I should mention there is about a 1cm gap at the end of each toe for me so the fabric is not compacting your toe into your foot. I will say that they are a bit tight for about an hour if you wear toe socks in them, but they relax quite nicely during that time and are good for the rest of the day. As far as arch support goes. I wouldn't say they have them, but one could argue they do as the sole does form nicely to the bottom of my foot/arches. Lastly the sole of these are quite flexible. So much so that I can curl my toes under my foot for stretching throughout the day. Something I cannot do in my other Five Fingers I own. These are the best shoes I've ever owned, even if they are expensive. ... show more

  • Very light weight... feels like you're barefooted!
Size: 11-11.5 Color: Khaki
At first I had to maneuver my toes into the shoes...the SECOND TIME I put them on like " hand in glove"! Took a walk in the park...no mountain climbing,yo?

  • The perfect barefoot shoe (and correctly sized)
Size: 10.5-11 Color: Khaki
I ordered these for my son. He says: These shoes are amazing. I wear them barefoot; there is no need for socks. They are extremely comfortable. They are flexible, yet protect your feet. They actually have some arch support, in the way their soles are shaped to favor the parts of your feet that are supposed to have weight on them. The fabric is breathable, and the antimicrobial lining (which should be better advertised) prevents them from smelling. (Plus they are, after all, washable.) They are so well designed, in fact, they might have been customized for my feet, for all I can tell. They fit like a glove. I feel obliged to correct what some reviewers have said about a size difference in Vibram's latest models. I own Vibram's original KSO EVO (bought nearly a decade ago) in 10.5-11. On the advice of multiple reviewers, I sized up, to 11-11.5. I had to return them; they were too big. I reordered them in the same size as my original Vibes, and they fit perfectly. So the size has _not_ changed. As an owner of the original and this model, both in the same size, purchased years apart, I can vouch that those reviewers are simply mistaken. (Perhaps their feet grew in the interim?) If you're looking for barefoot shoes -- i.e., shoes that feel like you're not wearing shoes, and yet protect your soles -- you can't do better than these. I am used to being barefoot most of the time (I'm something of a homebody), so these are a godsend. At long last, shoes that don't smother my feet, and don't even require socks! Goodbye, flip-flops that feel like strapping wood boards to my feet (ouch). Now all my muscles can do what they evolved to do. I firmly believe that >90% of foot pain is actually caused by shoes, rather than alleviated by them. YMMV, but that's been my experience, and a growing amount of research corroborates it. Do yourself a favor: free your feet. Let them breathe; let all the tiny muscles in them naturally adjust to what you're standing on and how you're walking. Those underused muscles will strengthen as a result -- and foot pain will be a thing of the past. ... show more
