Coming from farms located in the south of Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul), it undergoes an innovative tanning process where no chrome, heavy metals or dangerous acids are involved. By simplifying the tanning process, the use of chemicals and energy is limited, the use of water is reduced by about 40% and the use of salt by 80%. After tanning, the water is recyclable.

I am in LOVE with these shoes! They are not only cute and stylish, but ethically made and better for the planet. I took advice from other reviews and ordered a size down. I am usually a 7.5/8 and ordered a 7, and they fit perfectly. The other reviews made me think that the shoes wouldn't be comfortable, but I actually totally disagree. I find them very comfortable and I am surprised so many people had issues. Though the tongue and leather were at first a little stiff, like any shoe, they just needed to be broken in. Also, when I first received the shoes, I made sure to loop the laces through the little slit in the tongue. That helps the tongue stay in place and not rub up against your ankles. Is this a joke? These shoes are absolutely not worth $150. I won’t deny the design is unique and very cool. However, the sole feels like I’m standing on a pair of shoes from target. They look like they’d have more support for that price. And I’m not typically someone who would rank comfort higher than style but this is ridiculous if they’re $150 they need to have both style and comfort. They even look much cheaper in person. I just couldn’t pay that much to have shoes that look like they should be more in the $40-$60 range. And I can’t even start on the tongue of the shoe, it’s literally just a thin piece of pleather and is way too long. Did no one try these on before the design was finalized??? I am just honestly astonished that a company can get away with this type of mark up for such cheaply made shoes. Think toms when they just came out and they’re selling essentially prison slip ons for $80. These are obviously more stylish than toms but the quality is just not there for that price.
