Helmet arrived andin excellent condition. I was worried about the sizing because of some of the other reviews I read but I went by their sizing chart and it was extremely accurate. The helmet fit as though it was custom molded for my head. The gloss black was shiny and a very crisp vivid black coating. The fact that this also comes equipped with a quick release chin strap and an adjustable knob in the back is an added bonus. The knob I was concerned beforehand that it was some flimsy exposed plastic piece like a construction hard hat and it is not. It’s out of the way and very a comfortable fit. When adjusting, you can feel it slowly tighten to give an even greater fit. This helmet is well worth the money and I plan on buying another soon. It doesn’t look or feel like a budget helmet and actually looks like it is expensive. I am well impressed. The sun shade is also easy to lower and raise even though I probably won’t use it but it’s nice to have in case I forget my shades. Overall- very impressive and good quality and excellent fit! This helmet rocks for the price! I have a full face Motocross style Helmet I wear riding my ATV and dirt bike. In my opinion u should only wear a full face helmet for a motorcycle, atv, dirt bike, etc. I wouldn’t wear a half or even 3/4 helmet on those if you care about yourself at all. Go smash your jaw into the pavement at just 5mph and see how it feels and how many teeth you have left. But in the relative safety of a fully enclosed side by side with roll bars and a 5pt seat harness, a full face helmet is probably overkill. I wanted a lighter half helmet for that purpose but still a real DOT helmet that will save my melon if needed. This works great. To highlight a couple nice features: 1. The twisting adjustment knob at the back is great. Really snugs it up or loosens it as needed. 2. The strap is like a ratcheting with quick release. I hate on my full face helmet how long it takes to put off and on because of looping the strap thru the metal clasps and it’s a pain to quickly take on and off. With this quick setup on this helmet it literally takes half a second to throw your helmet on and off. Very nice. For sizing I might say these run a tad tad small. I normally wear a L helmet. But based on the measurements listed I ordered an XL and it fits great. With the knob at the back you can snug it up. I’d probably say if you are a little unsure what size or in between two sizes, to just go with the larger size. For the price this is a darn good helmet. I might even say it’s the best u can find for the price. ... show more

I love this helmet. It is very comfortable and well padded, but with enough play to wear earbuds under the earflaps. I like the fine-adjustment wheel at the back. The hidden flip up sunshield mechanism works perfectly. I like the quick-pull tab to release the chin strap. The visor is removable, the sunshield replaceable. I bought an additional high-contrast sunshield from Vega. I haven't replaced the sunshield yet, but it doesn't look difficult to do. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because it doesn't include a chin strap retainer. I have to loop the strap in under itself to prevent the loose end flapping in the wind. Fine, but Vega - spend the extra 50 cents and add a strap retainer. ... show more

I’ve only been wearing the helmet now for a couple of weeks but so far I’m very happy with it. I did my head size measurement and ordered the recommended helmet based on the chart provided in the product description. The helmet fits very snug. I don’t need to use the adjustable band to tighten it, but it’s not so snug where it’s uncomfortable. The helmet does not lift up at all under high wind conditions. Retractable wind shield only covers from about my nose up, but it really cuts the wind and is a big plus for me. Looks good (as far as helmets go) and feels great… all I had been hoping for. ... show more

Overall I don't like the look of helmets for scooter (think Vespa) drivers, but you MUST wear a helmet these days. While it still makes you look like a mushroom cap wearing it, from inside this VEGA helmet, it's pretty cool. First the fit is snug. I wear a medium in helmets, and this medium is definitely on the tighter side, so consider that if you're thinking about buying this helmet. I REALLY like the chin strap quick release and the disappearing tinted visor that can be pushed up and into the helmet when not in use. For a relatively inexpensive helmet this visor is free of distortion so it's very usable. What would make this helmet perfect? If you could unzip the ear covers sewn into the sides of the chin strap. I live in Florida so I'm betting this is going to be hot in the summer! Weight wise it's not bad. None of them are that light really, so this one doesn't weigh a ton, but it's not light either. Great helmet for riding. Looks great and is very comfortable. The back adjustment makes sure the helmet fits perfectly and doesnt move around too much. Once you have a quick release chin strap you wont use anything else. The visor is a little close to the face but I havent seen a model with a better design. Only wish there was an option for a clear shield. Most of us qear sunglasses when riding and the clear shield is great for night rides when you forget clear glasses. Pretty sure you can buy replacement shields though. ... show more

I rarely use a half helmet (I prefer a 3/4 with a visor), but on the rare occasion that I wear one, this does a great job. It's comfy and sturdy and super sexy.
