As a longtime fan of zero-drop shoes, it’s been a matter of perpetual frustration that most are made by athletic brands, with correspondingly garish designs and nosebleed prices that make them unsuitable for daily wear. Enter Vans, which have been here all along. These shoes have a simple, clean look that lets them go with any casual outfit, and they seem well-made while still being comparatively inexpensive. In terms of comfort, Vans do OK. They’re a bit heavy and firm underfoot, and unfortunately the insoles are not removable so can’t be replaced with better ones. However, these are fairly wide, high-volume shoes, so they can usually still accommodate a set of added low-profile insoles for arch support (which is otherwise entirely lacking). The wide, flat white laces they come with are long enough for a heel-lock lacing scheme, which helps prevent blisters, but a sticker on the bottom of one shoe warns that color transfer could occur. This means those laces likely won’t stay pristine white for long and may need replacing sooner rather than later. Still, that’s a minor whinge about an overall decent shoe that will get plenty of wear. ... show more

Omg I LOVE these!!! I have never in my life owned a pair of vans before and wasn’t really a fan of them to be honest but something changed in me this summer and I made the purchase. I can’t believe it took me this long to buy a pair of vans oh how I have missed out they are so comfortable and adorable. They are cute and go with everything. The quality is impeccable and slip resistant. They are true to size! I’m an 8 and I bought an 8. The fit is like a glove. I now own 3 pairs of these, in black, navy and white! Getting red asap!! I bought these with a birthday gift card and I absolutely love them! They are true to size, as I am a 7.5 medium typically, and I even like a wider toe box sometimes. These were spot on at 7.5, no pinching on the toe at all. So I wore them today for the first time, and was running errands. I had a dr appt first, and the intake nurse was obsessed with them! Here I am, 60 years old (but a hip-stylish and youthful 60 😬) and she was in her mid 20’s.. She wanted to know where I found them! Then on the way out of the clinic, a woman older than me stopped me to compliment me on my shoes too! If that wasn’t enough, I stopped by TJ Maxx on my way home, and a gentleman, probably not much older than the nurse earlier stopped me to compliment my Vans! He said he had never seen them in this color and material! I told him Amazon and he said he was gonna look specifically for them! I have never had an item of clothing get so much attention! Haha.. Definitely made my day! Now go and get them!! ... show more

Not exactly like the picture, the seam accross the toes seems off. But color is correct. Seem well made other than top seam difference. Seem more narrow than my other lace up Vans.

Exactly what I was expecting. I can always count on Vans for a stylish, low profile sneaker. My only complaint would be that the laces the shoe comes with are too long, so I had to swap them out for laces that are around 10” shorter so they wouldn’t drag the ground. The photo attached to my review is with the shorter laces. The original laces dragged the ground no matter how I tied the shoe. They fit as expected. They’re a good weight—not too heavy, but also not too light like the foam tennis shoes everyone else is selling these days. They’re about as comfortable as you’d expect for this type of shoe, they’re flat with no arch support so expect to buy inserts if that’s something you need. I can’t speak on durability since they’re brand new, but I’ll update if they fall apart too quickly. Overall, I’m happy with my purchase and these shoes are definitely worth the price I paid for them. ... show more

I own about 7 pairs of Vans and these are probably my favorite pair. The color is so nice and they fit so comfortably. I broke these babies in on a trip to a Mets game where we took the subway and walked a bunch. Super comfy and my feet were good at the end of the night. Buy them.
