Finding shoes that both look good and my son actually wants to wear is like winning the lottery—so these Vans Brooklyn Ls shoes were a huge win for us! We got them for family photos, and I wasn’t sure how he’d react since he’s super picky about anything that isn’t sneakers or slides. But as soon as he tried them on, he said they were “actually really cool”—which, if you know my 10-year-old, is the highest form of praise. He loved the comfort and said they felt “like skate shoes but fancier.” And the best part? No complaints during an hour-long photo shoot in the summer heat. They’re really well-made, with a nice balance of structure and flexibility. The low-key style means he’s worn them since then for school picture day, a birthday party, and even out to dinner with his grandparents.
