I bought these because they resemble dress shoes. I don't like wearing dress shoes because the middle quality ones are very uncomfortable. These Vans cost about the same as decent quality dress shoes but are more comfortable.

I love Vans shoes but just be aware that they are standard width (unless you specifically can find Wide, which is rare). They are narrow shoes but they do conform to your feet after a bit of wearing.

This is my favorite style of shoe and one of the only ones to fit comfortably from the first wear. Unfortunately, something has changed in the sizing at specific manufacturers. 8.5 men’s now feels 1/4-1/2 a size smaller. I have tried two different pairs of Filmore’s, made from different material, from two different sellers (this pair coming from the UK and the otherr from Academy in the US) this year and it has been the same outcome. I had to return because I have very fussy feet the older I get. I will try the next size up (of any Filmore I can find) before I repurchase. ... show more
