I picked up the Vans Women’s Knu Skool, and my son’s reaction basically told me everything I needed to know.. he loved them. No hesitation, no critique, just immediate approval, which is rare and therefore significant. These have that classic Vans streetwear style, but with a chunkier, more modern silhouette that makes them feel a bit more elevated than the standard look. The oversized laces and bold design give them a skate-inspired vibe that somehow manages to be both retro and current at the same time. The material is classic Vans quality- durable, well-made canvas and suede construction that feels built for regular wear and not just sitting pretty. They’ve got that familiar sturdy feel Vans is known for. Comfort-wise, they’re good for everyday wear with a padded collar for extra cushioning around the ankle. Arch support is… eh. It’s there in the “Vans has always been Vans” sense, but not something you’re buying these for. Fine for casual use, not for marathon-level standing. Cleaning is refreshingly low effort. They will pick up scuffs like any light-colored shoe, but honestly, nothing a Magic Eraser can’t handle, and they’re back to looking decent again in minutes. These are so cute and comfortable! I have a problem with swelling in my feet and legs, so I did size up from a 9 in women’s to a 10. They fit perfectly! The sole is the thickness that you associate with Vans. It’s not double stacked or too thin. They cost less on Amazon than at my local store. The stitching and the way they’re put together is flawless to the eye. The tongue is thick, and the sneaker itself gives great support. These are for my “cute outfit” sneakers, so I won’t be testing them for sports. They’ve got great traction on pavement. Very comfy shoe and I like the mix of an old and new school look. Can stand out despite am understated color. Feels high quality and I expect them to last. I personally had to de-lace and re-lace them with my feet in the shoes to get the puffier look I expected/ wanted but I overall really like these. For actual skaters, I don't recommend white else you can expect them to get dirty fast (get a shoe cleaning kit) but these should be able to take a long term beating based on the quality/ feel and the side pop-out linework of the shoe is basically a thick gaurd. ... show more
