First of all, these shoes look great, and feel like they are made of material much better than the price would suggest. I've come to expect that from Van Heusen, they tend to be a good value for men's dress clothes. The soles are very comfortable, and even after wearing them for a long time, and walking/standing a lot I was not as fatigued as with other dress shoes. The sizing length wise was what you'd typically see in dress shoes, but what threw me for a loop was how cramped my feet felt up and down (as if the soles were too thick). You DEFINITELY have to wear thin dress socks with these shoes, even medium thickness socks make your foot feel cramped and uncomfortable as if it has a weight on the top, or is being crushed. With thin dress socks this goes away for the most part, though they still aren't as comfortable as I have come to expect from modern, comfort focused dress shoes. That being said, I wore them all day, with the thinnest dress socks I have, and my feet didn't hurt, and I'd say I was less fatigued from the comfort of the soles, so it's kinda a tradeoff. Are you okay with your foot being a little cramped up and down so that the soles seem to do their job better? I personally am, but others may not be, depending on how long you spend in them, and how often you wear them. I really like these shoes, I tend to use them for business casual events, they came true to size and fit well. They are comfortable enough for an evening out and they look good!
