I was originally enthralled with the look of the Van Heusen Men's Qwell Oxford Shoes, and I am extremely impressed with the quality but I felt the comfort was lacking for me. They are a great option for anyone looking for a classic and stylish oxford shoe that can be worn for both casual and formal occasions. The shoes are made of high-quality materials and feel very durable. The upper is made of genuine leather, and the sole is made of synthetic material. The shoes also feature a cushioned insole and a soft lining, which for me is where the shoe fell short. The cushioned insole while soft goes flat very quickly and it feels like you are walking on very dense rubber. Granted since I’ve been working from home I’ve have been mainly wearing sneakers, so keep that in mind. One of the standout features of these shoes is their versatility. They can be dressed up with a suit for a formal event, or dressed down with jeans for a more casual look. The design is simple and classic, which makes them a timeless addition to any wardrobe. Another great thing about these shoes is their affordability. They offer great value for their price point, and they look and feel like a much more expensive shoe. The quality of the materials and the attention to detail are apparent, and I feel confident that these shoes will last for a long time.

These are comfortable, though the back of the heel needs to wear in a bit before they get there. True to size for me. Detailing along the seem is a bit busier than I'd prefer, but they're nice looking shoes.

I think the first bullet on the website for the Van Heusen Men's Qwell Oxford Shoes on Amazon highlights what I like best about it. It says "COMFORT CRAFTED… Our men's footwear is built for comfort." And I couldn't agree more. They are the most comfortable pair of shoes I've probably worn in many years. I put them on right away as soon as I received them and used them for two days now. No break-in period was needed at all. I also like their look. They have a formal style like wing tipped shoes and yet have a degree of informality with the white soles. These might be a good pair of shoes to take traveling with me when we visit South America on an upcoming cruise. Another good reason for taking these is the bottom of the soles. Look at the picture showing the bottom white part of the shoe. The soles are designed in such a way that you should have good traction even in wet slippery sidewalks. I still remember my trip late last year to Sidney Australia where it was raining heavily. The sidewalks were extremely slick to the point where I needed to ditch my shoes because of poor traction. I doubt I'll have this problem with these Van Heusen shoes. Also notice in that picture that the shoes have padded quilted inserts for your feet. I wonder if this is the secret for their comfort. Anyhow, it looks like you can easily replace these, if need be, in the future but I wouldn't unless they were identical. These shoes are really comfortable. OK, let's move onto the not so obvious that the Amazon site doesn't talk about. These shoes are made with engineered leather. I never heard of it before, so I did some research on the web looking for "engineered leather" or "ELeather". These are materials manufactured using leather fibers mixed with other materials to provide greater durability and ease of care. I'll let you do you own research. I learned that his material is easy to care for, perfect for travelers. Others report that care simply requires a light cleaning using a brush or vacuum to remove loose debris followed by a wipe down with a light damp cloth. I wonder if this means I don't have to polish them. Even if they don't last, the price point is such that wouldn't worry about it. Wing tip shoes made of full leather do require polishing, are three to four times of the price of these, and not as comfortable. I own two pair and wouldn't want to walk around all day in those. This pair from Van Heusen I would.

This is an interesting shoe that my husband ended up liking better than he thought. He is a tried and true size 12 and found that these fit true to size. He used to wear very nice, high-end dress shoes to work, but has since changed to wearing more casual outfits and shoes on a daily basis. These are unique because they offer the traditional look of a wingtip shoe on top, but they are really more of a tennis shoe because of the white outer sole and the very comfortable, padded insole. The top of the shoe kind of bunches up oddly as you can hopefully see in the photo, but as the day wore on and my husband had them on his feet for many hours, he said these wrinkles seemed to relax a bit. Overall, these are priced super fairly and offer the comfort of a tennis shoe in conjunction with the nicer, more polished look of a wingtip dress shoe.
