  • Simple to read and understand...good resource material
This book showed up promptly and in good condition. I found it very easy to read and it is providing me with a great resource to build my kiln. For the DIYr, you should be able source all the components needed and not break the pocketbook too badly.

  • Great starting point to learn how to build a small kiln for hobby use.
Concise, well written, easy read, yet chuck full of specific details. Prior to my reading this book, I knew little to nothing about vacuum kilns. After reading I have a fundamental understanding as to why and how they work. I am also now comfortable with moving forward with the build of a small (18" Diameter, 30" Long) kiln for personal hobby use. Good value for the money; recommend for purchase. ... show more

  • Gives you insights into making a vacuum kiln
There were aspects of the drying process which I was unaware of, and would have discovered by expensive trial and error had I not read this book first.

  • Perfect reference for building a DIY vacuum kiln
Fantastic reference material for creating your own vacuum kiln. There are a some videos out there, but not many that really have the level of detail needed to be able to build your own kiln. This book has everything you need. It’s a quick read, but very detailed and helpful. So glad I got it.

  • Great book lots of information.

  • Not much here
I bought this based on the positive reviews and the lack of information on-line about diy vacuum kilns. This book has some information, but it is very sparse and nowhere near as detailed as it needs to be. For the cost I expected a full sized book with good instructions and detailed diagrams and photographs. That is not what I got...at all. The book is very small...really more of a pamphlet than a book...Which makes it difficult to see what is going on in the pictures. As an added benefit, the photography is very dark and poorly staged so pictures a difficult to interpret and understand. I'm a very mechanically minded person, and generally do well with reading and understanding these kinds of books. I can honestly say I know absolutely nothing more about building a vacuum kiln now than I did before reading this book. I've read some bad diy books in the past, but I'm pretty sure this one is the worst. ... show more
