It looks great as part of a whole costume. It is thin, so don't expect it to keep you totally warm, but if you're going to wear it in the summer or indoors you'll be glad it's thin so you can have the look without the extra weight. The only thing keeping this from a five star is the string is so itchy on my chest area. I love that the string is gold but the material is not nice on the skin. Not that I needed it to, but the string does not sinch up, just so you know. The shoulder area is sewn to be over the shoulders so it doesn't slip back all the time, that is a big plus! The length is a little short (I'm 5'6") but the color, hood, and texture sells it. I did get compliments on my overall costume, and for the price it is a good value.

Bought this for an adult friend to wear as a red riding hood costume. She’s about 5’7” and 225lbs. It looked fantastic on her! The first time we left a chair there was a disaster of red fuzz on everything she touched. Ending up tossing it before the night was over.

I got this in Green and it was the perfect addition to my Medusa costume. The green is so vibrant and the cape is not sheer at all. I have washed it twice now, and it does transfer the glitter from the ties and they do fade.

This cape is velvety and soft! It arrived promptly so I did not have to worry about having it in time for Halloween! It is the bright red seen in the photo. It will not be very long on tall people, but it is a wonderful long/not too long length for someone my height - 5'2'. I haven't used it yet, just tried it on, but I know it will work perfectly for my Once Upon a Time Ruby/Red costume (the TV show's version of the little red ridding hood from the fairy tale). I recommend it, it's a good price and I'm sure it can be used for other costumes as well! (Witches, wizards, superheros, Harry Potter Quidditch robes). I imagine the black would also be perfect for Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and the rest of the Harry Potter characters costumes. Hooded robes are just awesome costumes in general. Pros: pretty bright red could be used for different costumes-red ridding hood, witches, wizards, warlocks, superman, supergirl, harry potter great for kids and short adults (like me!) soft velvet material good price Cons: might be short on taller people

cute light weight cape with hood. Went over a costume and wig well and almost blended in with velvet color on the hocus pocus Winifred costume perfectly a shade darker but really cute. If you are looking to add to your sanderson sister costume this is your cape. Not super long and not heavy and full so would not overpower your dress. However if looking for a cape for more of a costume such as red riding hood and wanted to be fully cloaked might night be enough on its own. But for this it was perfect good value would recommend
