I bought a second one after setting up the first just because it fit well in my computer room and I could build the second one mirror image of the first. Overall, it's a good desk, don't abuse it as it's not robust and sturdy like your Grandpa's old handmade oak desk, but it functions perfectly. The directions are easy enough to follow. It is just dense powder board, so don't over-torque the screws, just snug and it'll be fine. LEDs are a nice ambiance feature, I don't use them all that often personally, but the surface mounted power strip it probably the most useful thing on this desk; just makes quick access to power easier if you need to charge your phone, plug in a heat gun, charge a drill battery real quick, whatever. ... show more

I'm stretching a bit to give this 4 stars, but I'm trying to review it on its own, without comparing it to desks I've bought over the last 40 years. This is my first metal assemble-yourself desk. Assembly was fine. Easy to understand instructions. No missing parts. Just make sure to skip to the Option B instructions if you're doing Option B. (Sometimes instructions will give you different directions for Option A and Option B along the way during the build process. These instructions are separate. If you're doing Option B, skip to the middle of the book to find the start of those separate instructions.) The desk is nice. It's smaller than I imagined. None of my laptops will fit on the top shelf as shown in the photos. My monitor stands barely fit without slipping off the edge, and there's no room to put them on an angle. I like the shelf though, so this is just something I need to work on for my personal setup. I suppose you could call it sturdy/solid. It's not as sturdy/solid as a Bush or Sauder wood desk, it has some wobble. However, it's well built, and I don't think it's ever going to fall apart. The screws hold it together well. It's light, so it's easy to move. The metal is a little thin, if you run into it with your office chair the desk might not take it so well. Don't overtighten the screws or you'll bend the metal. The LEDS work, and I like them. Overall, it's not my favorite desk ever, but I like it enough to have ordered another one. I will put the second one together as Option A, and turn them into one big U-shaped desk, which is what I needed to make this work for 2 complete workstations with multiple monitors and all the accessories. ... show more

And as you can see I have plenty of room for 3d printer, dual monitors etc. Whatever I wanted. And my computer fit perfectly on that shelf. Alright, a full review, here we go! Pros: A lot of room, plenty of space, easy to organize! Cons: Setup is awful if you use the provided tools (psst, you have to for certain parts! 95% of the screws are hexagons, and not Philips (+), you need a rubber hammer to hammer on the foot supports, DON'T TRY USING HANDS! The RGB requires a USB, so if you are in it for that, be aware the power strip will only have one USB. I've been using this setup for a week now, and it is almost perfect for me. It was small enough to fit in my room, but big enough to have enough spots for storage/purposes. You can also set it up 2 different ways, which is nice if you need a specific orientation. The bottom walls are grated, which is great for organizing wires with zip ties, just don't push against it because it does seem a bit weak. Speaking of weak, the desk itself is VERY slim. Like, 1/4-1/2 of an inch. The top shelf in particular could be better with some extra support to keep it from bending from the weight of monitors, but so far it seems to be fine, can add something under it to prevent it from bending as easily. The RGB does come with a remote, and you can use an app to control the RGB as well, which is pretty cool for what it is! Overall, this is a good desk for the price, heavily recommend this if you have Prime or find it on a Deal! ... show more

I want to start out by saying that I've built tons of cheap furniture over the years. I'm very careful about overtightening anything, follow the instructions closely, and never use power tools. Applying my past experience, most things went right with this one. Unfortunately when I was deep into the build, following the instructions, I put the built frame upside down the desk top pieces to secure them to the desk with the provided bolts. Everything went in nice except one bolt. I found it strange as it never got any tighter than when I first hand threaded it in, but still went all the way down. Foolishly ignoring this as I was almost done with the project, I finished putting everything together and come to find out that the plastic threaded insert had immediately became unlodged as soon as I started to screw it down and worked its way up the bolt to get stuck in the metal tubing of the frame. So now I'm stuck with a desk I'm not taking apart to return, that has a top piece unsecured. Making it incredibly risky to move when I inevitably will have to do eventually. This is obviously very frustrating when you spend hard earned money on a product and you're screwed over by a lack of quality control. If this went together perfectly then it'd be a great desk, but given the situation I'm in here I have no other suggestion but to look elsewhere for a more quality product or just save your money. The media could not be loaded. I really liked the assembly! Compared to the last desk I had (which was a lot smaller might I add) the assembly process was pretty seamless. I will say if you’re in a rush you may mess up on your desk as the instructions are more picture based- there aren’t technically any written instructions but if you take your time it’s easy! I love the sturdiness of the desk and the lights just add to it perfectly! Would highly recommend. ☺️ ... show more
