  • REALY Itchy!!!
This shirt itches like crazy; throughout the stitch-lines on the sides! It's as though they put itching powder on it! So, if you're planing on wearing it throughout the day and not just through your workout, then it's gonna be next to impossible. It's just way to itchy and unbearable (But through your workout you can't notice the itchiness, hardly at all.) ... show more

  • depends on how you use these
For folks ordering a size up, you know you are defeating the purpose of a compression shirt right? If you order your actual size there's another problem: the fabric is thick and poly and it doesnt breath. Not even a little bit. Since you are supposed to wear this thing tight, there's no looseness for the heat to escape. So, if you are moving around and being active you'll quickly build up heat under the thick layer of the shirt. After a few hours the heat and sweat is not comfortable. I'd rather wear a cotton tshirt! ... show more

  • On compression fit:
A lot of people seem to be unsure about what size to order. I normally wear a small regular t-shirt (at 5'7" and ~150), and they tend to fit snugly, but well. I tried on two sizes of Under Armour of at a retail store to test the fit, and here's my verdict: If you're buying this for the true benefits of muscle compression, order your regular size, BUT order the sleeveless version. I found that wearing a small sized compression shirt left the sleeves looking embarrassingly small. These shirts, off the shelf, are a bit of a pain to put on and remove. I would imagine doing so without sleeves would be easier. But the compression, while mildly uncomfortable at first, seemed to be effective. I could really feel a difference on my muscles. Remember, the point of compression fit is to improve recovery and reduce muscle fatigue. That doesn't happen with a t-shirt that's just a little tight. I ended up ordering the medium t-shirt (with sleeves), and it fits great. However, I don't get the full compression effect, which is fine with me--I'm more interested in the moisture-wicking, heat-reducing "second skin" functionality (I'm military). If you're considering this because it looks cool on the mannequin, or cool on the model in the picture, don't. Get a non-compression shirt instead. ... show more

  • Sizing, durability and value
I would like to address the sizing that the other reviews have mentioned. Everyone seems to state that you need to size up to get the correct fit. However, I did not find this to be the case. As a cyclist (5'8" - 173 cm and 145 lbs - 66 kg), I have found the medium to be the perfect fit. I have owned and used the non tactical version of this shirt for two years and found it to keep me cool and "drier" then not wearing it while exercising. This version is the same fit as the non tactical shirt and works exactly the same. When exercising, the perspiration is pulled away from the skin immediately and onto the shirt where it can quickly evaporate. Unlike cotton shirts, the evaporation takes place in minutes instead of hours. When cycling I use this shirt as a base layer, even during the hot summers, and it works very well. One thing that you might not know, but wearing this shirt as a base and wearing a cycling jersey over it provides protection. During a fall or collision, the two independent layers provides limited protection from "road rash". Abrasions are very common sports injuries that are usually caused by a fall on a hard surface. As you fall or slide on the ground, friction causes layers of skin to rub off. From personal experience, while it will not protect completely, it does minimize road rash. As I mentioned earlier, I've had the non tactical version for two years. During that time, I would wear and wash. In the washing machine, it was set to cold/cold, high speed spin and hung up to dry. Usually, with polyester or non natural materials there could be issues with odor but I have not had that problem. Just be sure to wash promptly and you shouldn't have that issue. One of the 2 year old shirt is finally starting to show it's age and that is what prompted another purchase. Overall, I love these compression shirts. In addition to exercise, I now use these shirts for travel. Instead of taking five cotton shirts for a five day trip, I take two compression shirts. Wearing the first one while the other shirt is hand washed in the sink and hung overnight to dry. By morning, it's completely dry. It helps to minimize the number of undershirts in your suitcase. ... show more

  • Paid too much
Real nice shirt and all, but when you pay $29.99 for something and it arrives with a $24.99 MSRP price tag hanging off it. Well, ya' know, kinda feel ripped.

  • Not worth the premium price, champion is just as good.
You can get the same thing from Champion on this site, 5 dollars cheaper with free shipping so basically 10 bucks cheaper, and it performs the same function. I own both, wanted to compare the two and see if UA was worth the extra money, it's not.
