  • Best Freaking Slipper Around
Size: 9 Color: Black
Photo: brand new Ugg moccasins on left. 10 year old moccasins on right, still going strong! After the Ugg boot craze from the early aughts died down, I realized that having Ugg boots in Houston wasn’t exactly practical; after all, we get, like, 2 days which dip below 40°F a year. Nevertheless, I did want something warm and comfortable to wear around my house, but not boots. Enter Ugg moccasins. I purchased my first pair over 10 years ago. between 2012 and today, those moccasins have been worn through puddles, travelled across the world with me, and basically just being completely abused. I purchased THESE moccasins (Ansley, size 9, regular width, black leather), not because my legacy moccasins needed replacement, but rather because I wanted a slightly different style. This time around, I ordered a pair with a wide fit, because I recently started buying tennis shoes with a wide fit, and my feet had been thanking me for the change. Welp, the wide fit in these moccasins was the difference between “shoe flopping haphazardly off the back of my heel” and “shoe fits like it’s meant to fit.” With this standard width pair, the quality and craftsmanship are exactly the same as my first pair—that is to say, they’re superb. The stitching doesn’t rub, the backs are structured well enough that they won’t break down much after sliding them on/off, the Sherpa innards are soft, and the rubber sole is exactly right for wearing around the house, or running quick errands. One small point worth mentioning is the arch support, or lack thereof. These are SLIPPERS, not athletic shoes. You have to reset your expectations for supportive slippers. I think I’ve tried just about every memory-foam slipper out there, and those insteps last MAYBE a month before being completely flattened. If you’re on the fence about these slippers compared to other, less costly slippers, I urge you to hold off on the cheaper option and save for this pair, ESPECIALLY if you foresee wearing slippers for longer than a couple months. ... show more

  • REALLY comfortable and fine quality slippers! Buy your ACTUAL size!
I've now been on the hunt for the perfect slipper for many months. I have bought and returned several different kinds now from Minnetonka to North Face Thermoball. I have always been a Bear Paw gal, but wanted to try one that was more like a full shoe and most of theirs are half slippers. Living at the base of the mountains in Utah, our winters are long and cold. Our house is mostly tile and wood floors and I feel like my feet are CONSTANTLY cold. The North Face slippers were SO COMFORTABLE but they were just way too ugly. I mean, I know they're slippers and maybe that makes me vain, but if I'm going to spend good money I don't want to hate what I see when I look down at my feet. The Minnetonkas are well made, warm and comfortable, but just not quite the style I wanted, so I gifted them to my sister in law and she loves them! Then it came to these... I was really hesitant to buy anything UGG because if I'm being honest, I can't stand UGG boots. I know, I'm like, one of 5 women on the earth probably. Mostly I just can't stand things that are ridiculously trendy, but also because I think they're by and large very ugly. but, I decided to give these a shot. I wear a true size 8.5 (women) and based on other reviewers saying they ran small/snug, I ordered the 9 thinking they would be just right. When they arrived and I put them on, I immediately understood why people keep saying they fit "snug", but it isn't an ill fitting or uncomfortable "snug". It's because of all the fluffy innards. But don't let that fool you. The fluffy stuff mats down as you wear them. The actual slipper itself seems to be sized pretty well. The 9, while "snug" on the inside because of the fluff, were too long for my foot and caused heel slipping when I walked. Unacceptable. Returned. When the 8's arrived they fit MUCH better. No heel slipping when I walk! You almost have to ignore the snugness when you first put them on, knowing that it will go away, and focus on how they fit lengthwise. If anything I would say they run a little large as I normally wouldn't feel comfortable in an 8 and these have plenty of room to spare for my toes. Here's what I love: QUALITY - These are some damn fine quality slippers (for the money they'd better be)! The silky suede genuine pig leather is really, really high quality and lovely. The rubber soles are very sturdy and substantial and provide great traction on our slick floors for chasing my autistic 4 year old boy around the house every morning. The stitching and seams are very tight and professional and are not going to fall apart on you. The faux fur fluffy stuff is super soft and supportive and WARM! STYLE - Honestly, these are exactly what I was looking for in terms of style for a slipper. Easy to slip on and off without having to use my hands. I LOVE the light grey color and it was VERY true to the color pictured which I always appreciate. It's a very simple and sleek design but also looks chic because of the fine stitching detail. I love the imprinted "Ugg Austrailia" logo on the heel. It's very well done. COMFORT/WARMTH - Yeah these slippers took almost no breaking in. The only thing that has to be broken in is that initial snugness caused by the faux fur. I think it feels great and supportive and these are super soft and warm! I no longer have cold winter feet! I wear them with and without socks. Mostly with, as sweaty feet and faux fur don't play nicely together in my experience. WATER RESISTANT - I am SO happy that they made the leather water resistant and gave this slipper a rubber sole. First, it was important to me to have a slipper that I could run outside in to grab the mail or take out the trash etc. Sometimes that involves a little snow. Obviously I'm not going to shovel the driveway in these or wear them to the store, but it's really nice to be able to go outside or in the garage (to our spare fridge) without fear or ruining these. As for what I don't like as much: I think it's really tacky of them to put brand them as "UGG Austrailia" when they clearly say "made in China" on the tag inside. I mean, I get that companies outsource manufacturing for cost reasons, but then just call it UGG. I think it's deceptive to buyers to do this. So, lest you have images dancing in your head of some slipper maker in Australia stroking his koala bear between stitching pairs of moccasin slippers...think again. I think they go a little overboard on the faux fur lining. It's a little TOO voluptuous in my opinion. Both in terms of that snugness at the beginning and also because it seems to be spilling out of the slipper. There are some stray pieces that hang over and almost need to be trimmed off. It's hard to explain. Maybe you can see what I mean in my pictures, but it almost looks like it needs a hair cut when they first come. These are the most expensive slippers I have ever owned, hands down. Heck, these cost more than 97% of the SHOES I've ever owned as well! That's a really high price tag. Granted, they're also VERY VERY high in quality and I'm hopeful that they'll last a LONG TIME. If they don't, I will be updating. I just think for being made in China, these should really not cost quite so much. If they were being made in Australia where they're basically advertised to be from, I might not have a problem with it, but they're an Australian company, made in China, sourced by a German shoe company (Birkenstock) in California and fulfilled by Amazon. All that being said, so far I'm a fan of these slippers and I will update as they continue to break in. I'm really hopeful that they hold up well and don't get stinky! And for the record, I paid full price for these. Didn't get 'em for free, didn't get a discount. I'm just trying to help other buyers cause these ain't cheap! ... show more

  • Authentic slippers, took a week to break in & worth every penny!!!
Size: 8 Color: Light Grey
I purchased them & THEN read the reviews. I figured I'd have to return them due to nonauthenticity. I went to sites discussing ugg fraud & how to tell if they were fake. Next day they arrived & I was relieved they were the real deal! They seemed snug at first but after a week of breaking them in, they fit perfect. I have arthritis in my left foot, especially in the morning & it instantly stops hurting once i put them on. They are amazing in quality, comfort, support & price! I highly recommend these to everyone!!!!!! ... show more

Got these to use in my sewing room to keep feet warm and safe. Have worn them outside several times and got lots of compliments! Looking to get black-on-black pair but wide width is proving complicated. Super comfy and feet don’t get sweaty!!!

  • Best slipper purchase I have made
Size: 10 Color: Pink Blossom
I have tried just about every slipper out there - cheap, expensive, indoor- outdoor, name brand, store brand, I finally bought these because - believe it or not - I liked the color pink and needed a pick me up because I work as a nurse and was getting stressed and wanted something to wear in cool days for when I got my hair done or went to the store or got coffee and wanted to wear sweats and slippers and say ‘yes, yes I am wearing slippers but you stand on your feet for 16 hours and code someone and tell me you wouldn’t do this too - dare you’ - and guess what? They are so freaking g comfortable- they stay on, they don’t rub, they have a decent rubber sole. Granted - they are NOT all weather gear - good for cool DRY days and not great to wear with socks unless thinner and non slip - I tried socks and they kept slipping into my slipper driving me bonkers so took ‘‘em off. I got these cheap as I guess pink is last years color - I hope light purple goes on sale here soon … ... show more
