This headset is super easy to use, simple plug and play. Doesn’t have a battery, just a plug in aux. The cord length is great for controller use, maybe a little short for pc use but its still great. Weight is perfect, it doesnt feel heavy at all and it fits my larger head perfectly with some adjustments. The sound quality is awesome too! My only gripe is that the microphone is kinda flimsy and having it for 1 month already has made it loose and it falls down while I game. I wish it was sturdier. ... show more

    • Happier than expected
I have been using a pair of more expensive wireless Turtle Beaches. I broke the plastic joint on those and did a plastic weld, which held for a long time before failing again. I could do another repair, but I decided to buy these to hold me until I could do that, and to be a backup in the future. The positive response from the people I play with has made me decide to just use these going forward. I play on an Xbox One and at first these were too quiet. A little fiddling in the Settings menu and everything was where I like it. The people I play with say the audio quality from me is better. Both fidelity and the lack of an echo from me that I had not been aware of. I like the smaller cans, and the fit is comfortable. The old ones were quite large, and noticeably heavier. I preferred wireless in terms of encumbrance, but the wire really does not get in the way. I preferred the flip up mic on the more expensive model, and the muting control that allowed for, but by price and in practice that is a minor concern. Very recommended. ... show more

Let me preface this by saying, I've owned *at least* 5 Turtle Beach headsets over many years of console gaming. They were literally my favorite brand for quality vs. cost. My most recent TB headset broke (my fault) so I, of course, hopped on Amazon to order another pair. The Recon 50s were cheaply priced, and I trust the brand, so I got them. The first set came yesterday. There was NO SOUND in the left ear. I figure I just happened to get a defective set. Mistakes happen. No big deal. I initiated a return, and asked to be shipped a replacement. I got the replacement today. I excitedly hooked them up, ready to game with my friends. To my absolute shock, the sound quality was HORRIBLE. It sounds as though my audio is coming from 2m underwater. In disbelief that my favorite brand would sell a product with such awful quality, I thought that I must need to tinker with my audio settings on the ps5. Unfortunately, nothing I did made it sound any better. They are absolutely unusable. Maybe I was unlucky enough to get TWO defective sets back to back? Or maybe the product is just garbage? This headset is used weekly. It’s comfortable enough for multiple hour usage. Audio is clear and it blocks outside noise decently. Would definitely buy again when the time comes
