These are terrific my son picked them out I didn't like the color at all but they were inexpensive they plug in and to my surprise they actually work very well according to him. Of course how do I know if they actually work he's on his laptop 24/7 if I let him lol! Got these for my two sons and they’ve worked out great. Perfect headphones for kids — comfortable, easy to use, and the removable mic is a nice bonus.     • Happier than expected
I have been using a pair of more expensive wireless Turtle Beaches. I broke the plastic joint on those and did a plastic weld, which held for a long time before failing again. I could do another repair, but I decided to buy these to hold me until I could do that, and to be a backup in the future. The positive response from the people I play with has made me decide to just use these going forward. I play on an Xbox One and at first these were too quiet. A little fiddling in the Settings menu and everything was where I like it. The people I play with say the audio quality from me is better. Both fidelity and the lack of an echo from me that I had not been aware of. I like the smaller cans, and the fit is comfortable. The old ones were quite large, and noticeably heavier. I preferred wireless in terms of encumbrance, but the wire really does not get in the way. I preferred the flip up mic on the more expensive model, and the muting control that allowed for, but by price and in practice that is a minor concern. Very recommended. ... show more

Let me preface this by saying, I've owned *at least* 5 Turtle Beach headsets over many years of console gaming. They were literally my favorite brand for quality vs. cost. My most recent TB headset broke (my fault) so I, of course, hopped on Amazon to order another pair. The Recon 50s were cheaply priced, and I trust the brand, so I got them. The first set came yesterday. There was NO SOUND in the left ear. I figure I just happened to get a defective set. Mistakes happen. No big deal. I initiated a return, and asked to be shipped a replacement. I got the replacement today. I excitedly hooked them up, ready to game with my friends. To my absolute shock, the sound quality was HORRIBLE. It sounds as though my audio is coming from 2m underwater. In disbelief that my favorite brand would sell a product with such awful quality, I thought that I must need to tinker with my audio settings on the ps5. Unfortunately, nothing I did made it sound any better. They are absolutely unusable. Maybe I was unlucky enough to get TWO defective sets back to back? Or maybe the product is just garbage? Cheap headset great quality for those who say the removable mic won’t stay in just aren’t paying attention to wat they’re doing it goes in a certain way but if put in correct it stays no problem other than the chords that come down from the headset to the controller are lil flimsy but only place corners were cut on this product and I’m cool with it for wat I payed I got a nice deal ... show more

    • Terrible sound input and output
I wasn't expecting much for the price point. That said, I didn't get much either. These are terribly uncomfortable to wear. I've been told that the mic is choppy and tinny. The sound is thin and doesn't have clarity. The frequencies are muddy. I often wear around my neck and use my stereo monitor speakers while I use the mic. The upside is that the controls are nice. It's easy to turn up or down, and mute your mic. This is also an entry-level gaming headphone set. So again, don't expect much. Lastly, the cord is very short. I can't use these with my laptop on my desk and sit comfortably without pulling on the cord. I tried to use an extender, but the microphone is rendered useless. It will not work with a 1 ft extender. I don't think I would buy again or recommend to others. ... show more
