Description

We hit the trail or trek through the backcountry in the Tubbs Wilderness Series Snowshoes. A lightweight deck keeps them afloat through powder as we make our own path through the woods, and the Active Lift heel riser helps reduce fatigue when we're climbing up steep hills searching for scenic vistas. When the snow conditions change and we find icy surfaces, the toe crampon and rotating toe cord dig in and offer us traction to keep us upright as we explore.

    • Great general purpose snowshoe
Color: Black Size: 25
Great mid-range, all-purpose snowshoes for flat land or hills/moderate terrain. Suited for anyone looking to purchase one pair for multiple settings that will last, either beginner or seasoned user. Weight is fair, not light and not heavy; flotation is the only major aspect here that could be better for deeper, lighter snow, though what is gained in trade-off is likely going to be durability/construction quality. Binding system is far better than most once the toe is broken in–rubber toe cage has tendency to deviate at first. Time will tell regarding the longevity of the thin and seemingly flimsy heel strap. In terms of fit, binding will accommodate most footwear options without pinching due to multiple points of contact distributing pressure. Heel lift is solidly built/attached if not a bit stiff. What was most impressive was how easy the stride felt once moving at a consistent pace, almost like not wearing anything. If you pick your foot up for too long and hold it like that, however, on a few occasions the snowshoe might turn itself to be perpendicular to the ground (toe pointing to the sky), with the back of the heel then making first contact with the ground if you go to step right away without leaning forward first, which might cause any less-than-nimble users some trouble with trying to regain their balance if they stumble backward for a moment and lift one foot into the air for too long. Traction on rolling hills is there, no slippage going up or down small inclines. For value, the MSRP is on par with the caliber; some might call it a sliver high when accounting for other, higher quality models that cost a benjamin or two more. A sale price would probably be a no-hesitation great return on the investment, though either way they will serve well. Overall, they do well for the level of impact intended for this type of model if the price is right while noting a few minor idiosyncrasies that can easily be lived with, especially for having the intuitive bindings. ... show more

I bought snowshoes for me and the fiance, and we have had a blast with them. We don't go out too often, and we don't get too crazy on the mountain trails, but these really fit the bill for a very good price.

    • Poor bindings
Color: Black Size: 30
I ended up returning these for a better price thru Tubbs. I hate the bindings especially if your hands are cold. They are a pain to get on and take off.
