Amazon recommended XL, I have NEVER worn XL bottoms in my life. Ordered L and they fit great. I'm 6'1" and 180 pounds. Seems to be relatively warm, we'll see how they work for skiing in Colorado.

These are well made, which may be surprising as they are less expensive than some other well known and heavily advertised brands. The sizing is pretty close to what you expect compared with others that run small. They don't roll, they stay in place, and the pocket is a nice addition that I really appreciate. These tights are tight is some places (as they're supposed to be) and loose in others. If true tights are what you're after, I'd try something else. These might make a good base layer for winter activities where you want to remain cool, but that's about all. As for compression, there is none.
